I got back from London last night. I'm still all wonky/sleepy, but I'll be ok. (jet lag keeps getting easier and easier to get over!)
The past 4 days, I didn't follow my diet AT ALL. I didn't eat terrible--- but I didn't eat good, either. I had LOTS of sugar (something I haven't had in a LONG ASS TIME) and a lot of bread/pasta/etc.
I have no idea how much I weigh now (I'm pretty sure I packed on at least 10lbs). I also have bags under my eyes which showed up in almost every picture we took.
needless to say--- I'm sooooooo glad to be back and getting on a normal schedule again.
---------------
the title is named that because on Wednesday (before we left) I did Walking Lunges. Not too bad... nothing terrible (well, it was do-able). I was so sore on Friday I could barely move. (lunges + sitting on a plane for 8 hours + not moving a lot = TERRIBLE IDEA!)
so, my advice to all is to not do lunges before going to sit on a plane. Do cardio or something---but not lunges/squats/etc.
----------------
Also! STAY HYDRATED when you go abroad! This is key! I always get dehydrated when I travel.
Another note (that I didn't even think about) is to get a shit-ton of those vitamin C drops and to take 2 a day. I normally get a cold or something on the plane, but a girl I was traveling with brought these and I feel fine (well, not sick). so yay!
-----------------
Here is a list of things that I ate/"cheated" on.... and the things that were most worth it:
Indian food. (holy shit... sage, butter chicken, the deep-fried thingys, mango lassi, .....everything was delicious!)
Lamb Donar. (delicious!)
Ottolenghi (look it up. It's a vegetarian place)
bangers and mash (these were meh. I should have gotten fish and chips)
meat pies (i love meat pies. but the crust is obviously not-paleo)
BEEEEEERRRRRRR!!!!! How I love thee.
