Running w/ a weighted vest.

yesterday's warmup:

run a mile-- half of it with a 20lb sandbag.
7:58

run a mile with a 20lb weighted vest:
9:11

(My best mile in highschool was 7:45).

I'm training for a half-marathon in less than 2 weeks. (I know I'll finish it-- I'll just be slow). I'm trying to practice running with a gas mask (something about strengthening up my diaphragm?) and running with sandbags (strengthening my legs).

we'll see how this goes. I'm sure I'll get weird looks But I don't care.

oh wow - good luck - i just found out i have an old injury (that i knew) but i didnt remember was i cannot run on cement, it has to be clay like the highschool/middleschool trcak & the gym which really sucks - the injury was from middle school!

wait. huh? Why can't you run on cement? Have you tried switching out your shoes or something? what's the injury?

i fractored my ankle bone and it broke a chip and it was never healed right, so i have to run on soft surface if iw ant to run just not cement cuz it is not stable...
