Between work and looking at "my" house, I am just overwhelmed. My dad flew in from New York to the funeral and to help me with the house/will etc. I was not in charge, but since the house was left to me, and I had absolutely no idea what to do, he helped me out. Mom stayed with their business there. So far....the house has been appraised at over 500,000 dollars. That sounds like a lot, I know, but in the neighborhood where it is located, that is considered a very reasonable price. She kept the house up well, but some updating would be great. I still don't know what to do. My dad has offered to pay the taxes to keep the house in the family should I decide to live there. I just don't know. I am so accustomed to living w/ my friend and her family that the fhougt of venturing out on my own is quite terrifying. More later. I am so exhausted; all I want to do is crash right now. |
