Pardon me while I burst into flames.

"Normal is Hard to Fake."

When Aequitas arrived on earth, nothing was familiar. his ship had gone down during a road trip across the galaxy, and the stars burned and taunted him as he fell, as if mocking the very concept of flight. He assumed he'd be killed. He took a deep breath and prepared to flee for his life as he pushed open the door of the escape pod. But he saw only sand. He knew sand from his home planet, and was comforted both by the solitude and the familiar climate.

It seemed like he had been wandering the sands for days.He was capable of flying on his own, but it required about four times the energy of walking. Were he at home, he could have sent a telepathic cry for help. But not here. FInally, he came upon a group of wooden structures. Aequitas had spent most of his life alone. Even back home, he was accustomed to very little interaction with others, by his own choosing. But now he was happy to see someone. No matter what species. As he approached the structures, he saw life. People. Earth's inhabitants. And they didn't seem all that different. The only difference he noted was the lack of gills about the neck, and the lack of wings. Aequitas' wings spanned at least 24 feet, and had been his only shade during his travel through the sands.

This one was a female. The females on Earth, like his own planet, were distinguishable by the hair, breasts, and general aura about them. She stopped what she was doing as Aequitas
took flight and gently settled on the ground in front of her.
"What the fuck?!"
He could speak any language. It was more of a telepathic conveyance of the meaning behind the words than a comprehension of the words,
"Do not be afraid. I am Aequitas. My ship went down a few miles out that way, and I am in need of water and food."
The human female disappeared into the wooden structure and returned seconds later with a bottle of water and a sandwich. Aequitas ate hungrily, and when he was finished with both food and water, the girl addressed him.
"I'm Veritas. Nice wings."
"Thank you. I'm just glad you aren't frightened."
"Oh I'm scared shitless. But you've got wings. What the fuck chance do I have?"
"I mean you no harm. I assure you."
"For some reason, I believe you. Let's talk inside."

Over the rest of the evening, two things happened. Veritas and Aequitas became friends, and Aequitas became confused about the human way of life.
"So some humans have alot of currency, and some humans die because they have none. Why don't those with an abundance share with those who are lacking?"
Veritas laughed, and said "That's how humans work."
"And the religion thing? Let me make sure I understand. Some humans actually KILL other humans because of their faith?'
"Yep. Happens every day. How does it work where you come from?"
"We have no religion. We have seen empty heavens and masterless hells. There is nothing out there. and Even if there were, we value life too much to kill for it. When we don't have, we ask. When we have and are asked, we give. We haven't had a war since the beginning of time, or so I'm told."
"It grows a little tedious. But there's little fear."

Months went by. Aequitas learned how to be human, and Veritas never grew tired of his stories of home. she came to view it as paradise. Unable to go anywhere, Aequitas had to have Veritas retrieve things from the "town", roughly 16 miles away. SHe did not mind, but he knew it was becoming a burden for her, and soon he knew he'd have to move on.
And then the men in black cars came.
Aequitas had his wings tucked inside a trenchcoat, at the suggestion of Veritas, but the men knew.
Before he could respond, Aequitas was on the ground and being tied. Then everything went black.

His craft. It was being taken apart by these men. He'd never be able to repair it if he didn't do something soon. With a single wave of will, Aequitas put all the humans to sleep. He repaired the craft, using both human tools and parts he discovered that had been recovered from previous downed airships. He wondered how many of his brethren had fallen victim to these humans and their surgeries and experiments, simply for the sake of peace. Well, he would not. He would not kill all these humans, but he would not let them kill him either. Or so he thought.

Then he found Veritas. In a glass room, tubes in mouth and nose, hand and feet strapped, and eyes vacant.
He shattered the bulletproof glass with a wave of his hand and removed the bonds. They had injected her with something, but he wasn't sure what. She was unable to speak other than a mumble, and all he could do was hope it was temporary. There was a medical cart outside her cell, and luckily the chart revealed one vial to be an antidote. The other, apparently, was a drug designed to wipe her memory. He quickly injected Veritas with the antidote, boarded the ship, and took flight, breaking apart the ceiling as a means of escape.
After an hour or so, Veritas had returned to normal, but a decision had to be made.
"I'm going home" He announced. Veritas did not hesitate. "take me with you. Take me to paradise."
Aequitas, set the course for home. As the ship let the atmosphere, true to his name, he put his finger to his temples, focused all of his energy, and blew up Earth.
As the pit of greed, violence, and rape exploded, Aequitas and Veritas smiled.
