I am reading The Journey by H.G. Adler and is taking me on this very emotional roller coaster. It's an excellent book but the fact that he managed to turn his story (he is a Holocaust survivor) into a novel is very hard to get through my head. He doesn't mention the SS, Hitler, concentration camps, or Jews whatsoever. Instead he classifies the Jews and one group and the SS as another group. It still makes me want to cry though because of everything he writes about what they went through.
I'm going to start reading The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky. It's really....long but it seems interesting nonetheless. I wish the print was a bit bigger though - this version of the book has super small letters and it's hard to read. Booo.
WE HAD THUNDER LAST NIGHT/THIS MORNING!!! But I was too tired to wake up! I just heard it and thought it was a truck that was dumping something outside but this morning when I saw my Matteo (a kid from work), he told me that it had been thunder AND we're supposed to have thunder and lightening tonight!!!
I'm dog sitting until next week. It's been really crazy so far (but in a good way). Both of these dogs have physical problems and they have to take a bunch of medication. They're really fun to be around and cute! I miss my doggie though! I hope mom or dad put on her jacket tonight because it's supposed to rain tomorrow and I don't want her to be cold or get wet. We bought a new leash for her and new dog food for seniors. Kittie got new food too and some wet food (that he doesn't like too much) but he's still on his vitamins.
Anyway, I'm off to read a bit before we have to go (I'm not working today but we're all going to Safeway and see how everything is in the background and I'm coming with).
