Not such a good Christmas

My Christmas didn't end up being very good! It started out okay, Christmas Eve we had dinner at my grandmother's house. Isabel got a WHOLE bunch of toys, I got a bath basket and a 20 dollar gift card, John got a tin of mixed nuts and a $20 gift card (both for Wal-Mart). I really didn't care about what John and I got though as long as Isabel was happy thats all that mattered! Anyway, Christmas day came and everything started out good. My mom spent the night with us so she could watch Isabel open her presents, and my step-father came by to watch too. Isabel got a whole bunch more toys including a little scooter riding toy that John and I bought her. Mom bought me a new purse which I LOVED and she got John a brand new Winchester pocket knife which he desperately needed! Anyway so after the gift giving David (my step father) left and it was just John, me, Isabel and mom. Well we started eating when all of a sudden momma started complaining about being dizzy. Soon after she went to the bathroom, came back in the living room and asked if we had anymore toilet paper because she'd used the last. She then remembered that there was a roll under the sink so she went back down the hall to look. All of a sudden there was a loud bang and John started screaming for me to go check on mom. I got down the hallway to find her collapsed in the floor and having a seizure. John immediately called 911 while I moved her away from the door jamb which she'd hit when she passed out. The seizure only last about a minute but she was unconscious for a while. While we were waiting for the ambulance I called my grandmother and told her I needed her IMMEDIATELY! She was at my house and my mom had already come to by the time the ambulance arrived! My mom has a HUGE fear of ambulances (long story) so she refused transport! Instead my grandmother took her to the hospital and I followed behind in my car!
Once we got to the hospital they did a CT scan, took some blood and did an x-ray of her neck. We were there for about 2 hours, the tests came back clean so they can only assume the seizure was caused by a new medicine they had momma on! It's called Abilify, it's supposed to boost anti-depressants! They told her to discontinue the medicine and to stop driving until she could get to a neurologist. Well needless to say momma was in a lot of pain from the fall and I had no money so I asked the doctor if he would please give her a motrin scrip since her medicaid would cover it (motrin is simply Tylenol...there is NO narcotic in it)...he REFUSED!! They gave her ONE motrin for the ride home and sent her on her way! I was PISSED....she is doing much better now but it was a big scare there for a while!
Other than that the best thing about Christmas for us this year is that Isabel had a ball! I'm just hoping our New Years is better than Christmas was! Anyway my next door neighbor just came in (he's one of my best friends) so I'm gonna go spend sometime with him and John! I'm outtie..caio and Blessed Be!
