PLEASE HELP ME REMEMBER THIS BOOK

when i was in 5th grade i remember reading a book about the vietnam war and one family's struggle to survive. the family consisted of a mother and her two daughters, one that was about 18 and one that was around ten i think. it goes through them and their daily lives trying to avoid soldiers and bombings. toward the end of the book, the mother gets sick and dies. throughout the book the older sister is dressed as a boy with her breasts bandaged down so soldiers don't rape her. the mother makes the daughters keep the bandages and they cant figure out why. one day they find a secret pocket in the bandages with money in it. does anyone know anything about this book??? i neeedddd toooo knoooowwwww :[
