Another update.

Please ask to be added if you want to view the photo updates.
Just a small update.
I got a call from my adoption counselor and she said that the adoptive parents will meet me at the hospital, so they can come with me to the doctors appointment and hear the sound of the baby's heartbeat.

Afterwards, they said that they wanted to take me out to dinner.
At the dinner, I am planning on showing them the ultrasound picture, and going over the hospital plan with them to make sure all is kosher.

I had a small "nervous breakdown" this morning over all the things I have to remember and do. (I've been so darn weepy!)
I finally got the semi-open adoption plan down pat I think; even though I think it's a lot to ask from them.
But then again, they have a lot of family out of state, and so I'm sure the adoptive mother will be sending out a lot of emails with picture attachments, and she could just add in my email along with the rest.

I thought I had the hospital plan down pat, but that took a turn when I was asked a bunch of questions I never thought were going to be asked. (Then again, I've never really been around pregnant women; much less been with them at their doctors appointments or delivery.)
I'm not sure about what other questions are going to be asked about the semi-open adoption. I guess with that, it pertains to me only, while I thought the adoptive parents should have been involved with the hospital plan.

I also have to start writing my adoption letter, and I am so stumped on it.
I cannot for the life of me think about what I want to put into it.
My mom said just to write what's on my heart but there are so many things I'm feeling, and so many reasons behind why I chose adoption for him.

I guess I just have to take one thing at a time right now.
I still have about 3-4 weeks left.
Thanks for visiting.

It'll come to you. :] Adoption is such a long process, I wouldn't even know where to begin!

So is everything set with these adoptive parents? I mean, have you decided on them, when will things be official?

I think you're doing a good job with everything so far and you should feel proud and secure with yourself. Everything will work out in the end.

As for the letter, I'd say pretty much what your mother said, just write what you feel like writing. Just start writing something even if it's not the final thing, and then through that you should figure out what it is exactly that you want/need to say.

Instead of a letter, can you keep a journal to give him? That way you can write what you feel/think of each day and he can see what leads up to his birth.

It's not a bloop term o.0; it's just a general term

FAQ isn't s Bloop thing. It's used out there in public quite often! It's often on information leaflets, or websites (non-Bloop sites!). It's a VERY common term. I have to agree I'm kind of shocked that you could never have seen it before!

ryc: Yeah, I would feel limited by a letter. lol. I would have to do a journal. hahaha. I'm glad you like that idea too!

If you want, I can give you a few other ideas and tips to help you through this process and whats to come afterward

It's a tough process, to be sure, but you seem to be managing with a great deal of finesse. I like the other commenter's idea of doing a journal Perhaps a condensed version of this journal? it's certainly answering alot of questions for the rest of us.
