Frozen Water Pipes
This morning Kevin woke me up before he went to work to let me know that we had no water - the pipes had frozen. Geez - isn't it too early in the winter for this to happen?
So, he leaves all of the faucets on and tells me to listen for when the water starts running again. It didn't.
At about 10:00 he called me and asked if I would do him a favor? I, of course, responded that it would depend on what the favor was. He wanted me to take my hair dryer out under the house, and use it to 'heat' the pipes and gauge on the water tank.
After 33 minutes of getting nowhere, I decided that I was too cold to sit out on the ground in front of my house anymore. And I am just too paranoid of a fire to leave the dryer outside by itself. So, I come back into the house.
The psi on the guage DID go up to 50 - Kev said that told him that the part of the pipe that was frozen was probably going into the house.
I felt proud. I decided to reward myself with a cup of mocha cappacino. I took my little hot pot over to the sink, and then proceeded to hold the pot under the not-running water. Duh. So, no coffee right now. Bummer.
I bought Aaron's bus ticket home today. He will be coming home on the 21st. Yesterday I made a sweater for my puggie - pic: (of course, this was BEFORE I had made the arms)
