or insulation slivers.....
Kev got out of work early so that he could come home and figure out why we didn't have any water - well, he already KNEW, but he had to 'pin-point' the problem.
We went outside to see about putting the heat tapes on the water pipes. I had never been a part of this, the last ones lasted 10 years, and my FIL was the one that helped Kev with those.
Of course, Kevin has been asking Cameron to help him for a few weeks now - Cameron hasn't helped his father at all.
So, Kev says, "I'm not gonna fit under the trailer to get to that pipe, Aime." Which was true, there isn't that much space under there. And Kev is a big guy - but, then again, I'm not all that small, but I offered to go under anyway.
Dumb ass. Me, not Kev.
I got under there - keep in mind that I have claustrophobia - and I immediately started panicking and gagging and choking. Kev kept saying "Breathe, Hon."
I finally got the heat tape wrapped around the pipe, but we realized that we didn't have enough heat tape. Dammit. We had to take a trip to Newport to get more tape.
I saw a spider right by my nose when I was under the trailer, I 'pinged' it away - and tried like hell not to think about what else might be crawling around me or watching me. Ugh. It had to be done, though.
We picked up another 12 ft of heat tape, insulation to put around the pipe/heat tape, and Kev got me a hazelnut coffee at Timmy Ho's.
Back we came to the house. Back I went under the house. Panicked again, sucked in a bunch of fibers from the insulation, got a bunch of fibers in my nose and hands.
My cheeks feel burned, but I wasn't standing out in the wind, so I don't know what's up with that.
I am now sitting in the house in my nice, clean pjs with the fire roaring and a hot (well, now it's cold) coffee on the table beside me.
So, I am glad that THAT is done.
And we now have our water back.
I am getting a new vehicle. Well, it's not *new*, but it's new to me. See, my MIL bought a 2001 red Taurus from her friend (who just turned 82, and she couldn't drive anymore) for $200. Imagine MIL's surprise when she got behind the wheel of the car and realized that she couldn't reach the gas pedals. (She is short and not altogether a thin person).
So, guess who gets the car? I am buying it from MIL for $200. Just in time too, because my Focus will not be able to be run after March. I just registered the Focus, so I am just going to transfer the plates from the Focus to the Taurus.
I wasn't going to get excited about the car, or even write about it, but yesterday we picked up the Title, Registration, and Keys - so NOW it is mine and I can celebrate all that I want.
