a big mix bag

Hi people

I've had much randomnes stuff to say during the week but most of which I probably forgot about.

Work: Tuesday had a crappy day. Thursday: had a very good day. We talked about "music therapy".

New Computer: Yesterday at work I realized something that I did not like at all about my new computer. I was curious, as I am from time to time after I have written a poem, to see how many pages and words my poetry document is. I had my first experience with MS word 2007. It is totally different program from word 2003 which I am so use to. I am going to have to learn the layout and all the submenus. I'm not one for change and this is going to be a big change. Not only do I have to teach myself 2007 outlook I have to also teach myself 2007 word on top of dealing with an updated version of my speach program. AND here is where my great memory works against me. I am going to remember all those 2003 hotkeys that dont work in 2007 and somehow have to not get them confused with the 2007 addition. If you think I will forget the hotkeys over time, I WISH, but it aint going to happen. I still remember the hotkeys for word perfect from when i was in hs 15 years ago.

Computer p2. The start menu sucks. it is so confusing. I'm not sure of the visual layout but to navigate with the arrows, it seems as nothing where it is when I try to go back to duplicate my actions. maybe I've just not enough practice but ... blah.

BOSTON SPORTS NEWS
Last night, the Boston Celtics dethroned King James and his not so merry Cavs for a spot in the NBA eastern final.
Tonight, the Boston Bruins can do the same if they defeat the Phi Fliers on ice.
The Boston RedSox travel to Detroit to meet up with a one time Boston "ideot" Jonny Damon and the Detroit tigers.

Mike and Mike: on ESPN and ESPN radeo there is a 4 hour morning show that I listen to from time to time while eating breakfast. I really like this show. One of the Mike's is a former football player while the other is a nice Jewish boy who got his degree in jernalism from some big school. Wednesday morning they were hot about a story that I would like to share with you in part, and I will give you the url if you would like to read the entire article.

“This is the story of a high school pole vaulter whose successful leap in the last event won the meet and the league championship for her team -- until an opposing coach pointed out she should be disqualified for breaking a rule, reversing the outcome so that his team captured victory and the league title.”

"Monrovia coach Mike Knowles reacted by pointing to his wrist and gesturing toward Laird, who was wearing a thin, colorful string bracelet."

"The rule in this case -- Section 3, Article 3 of the National Federation of State High School Associations -- is clear: "Jewelry shall not be worn by contestants." So is the penalty, and in the time it takes to read "the competitor is disqualified from the event," South Pasadena's win was transformed into a 65-62 victory for Monrovia."

"The girl's infraction? Wearing a friendship bracelet."

*my opinion? ok, it was a rule that was broken, but like the other coach pointed out, is this really the time to be "black and white" about a friendship bracelet being jewlry? The coach had to wait till she had won the meat for the other team before he points it out. He couldnt say something before hand? And as far as the rule goes, I totally understand the purpose of the rule, it is for safety. If she had a gold bracelet on and it got caught on the pole she could get hurt. But we are talking about a thin string that could just snap easily. I do not consider a friendship bracelet as jewelry. It was poor sportsmanship on the coach's part in many ways.

(bon jovi happy now)

Last night I thought of writing... a play.

What do you think of this idea.
(and yes the idea is loosely from Romio and Juliet)

It’s senior year of high school in 1969in the outer skirts of Boston. Stephanie O’Neill, a nice Catholic girl works at her father’s “packy” (1.) with no real aspirations except to find a rich Catholic man to sweep her off her feet. These thoughts are quickly pushed aside when she meets a handsome Jewish classmate, Mordecai Greenberg, who received a full academic scholarship to Harvard to study pre law, much to the dismay of Joe O’Neill, Stephanie’s father, who forbids her from dating anyone who is not Catholic.

Homemade apple pie
5-12-2010
By Jonathan

I was a curious girl about nine years old
I didn’t always do what I was told
On this particular day my curiosity got the best of me
I smelled my mom’s apple pie and it made me feell happy

I stood in the doorway watching my mom bake
She’s really good, last year she baked me a birthday cake
She looked so happy
As she was reading the recipe

Mom, I want to learn how to bake pies
She turned to me with a sparkle in her eyes
She invited me over to the table
She said that I will be able

This recipe
Was given to me
By my mother
She got it from her mother

First we made the pie crust
Cutting up the apples was a must
A bit of Sinnamon
We put a pinch of this in and than a pintch of that in
Lay it over the crust, that’s right
Be careful with the top layer, it’s light
Let’s put them in the oven
We’ll clean up and then
Then you can taste your own apple pie creation
My mom said with no hesitation

The smell was out of this world
It would make you weak, well, at least this little girl
I could not wait to try it
Maybe I’ll become a baker, it would be my top hit

Good luck figuring out all the spiffy things on your new computer! It's always fun to play around with stuff like that!

Ok that thing about the girl and her friendship bracelet is just dumb. People will do anything to ruin something like that. That's horrible.

Oooh I like the idea of that play!

That poem made me hungry lol
