Mother's day weekend

05/11/2010

What a busy few days

Friday I went with my twin and his wife for dinner and to listen to the Redsox play the Yankees, the Celtics play the cavs and the bruins play the fliers. Unfortunately, the Boston teams all lost and lost pretty badly.
Since Justin and Lindsay was going to have mother’s day at their place, Lindsay thought, why doesn’t Jonathan just stay over Saturday night too. So I did. I had brought my new and old computer with all the new and old programs for my twin to install. He did that Saturday. They had some surveyors come to their house to have their land surveyed. That was Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon while Lindsay was having lunch with a friend and they went to the Patriot’s hall of fame, Justin and I went to the bank (where Justin told me a story that I will tell you later on. So excited!) We also ordered and brought back to his house pizza from my fav place, papa geno’s. The redsox yankee game on Saturday started at 3 so before that, I started watching fever pitch again while Justin started on either cooking or cleaning for the next day (they were cooking cleaning on-off right up till people arrived on Sunday) I watched the redsox game and they were getting crushed again by the big bad Yankees but than the rain came and it was about a 90 minute delay. During that time I finished up the movie. The sox game came back on and Lucic (their dog) and I finished watching that too. We had dinner while listening to the pits-mon hockey game. After the hockey game we settled on their couch, all four of us (including the dog) to watch the most funniest SNL in … decades? Betty white was great. My favorite line, where I was doubled over laughing, was the last scene where the person from the senses came and the lady said something was ascertain and Betty said “ascertain? That use to be my stripper name” omg!

My grand parents gave my twin a car as a home warming gift. (It was somewhat new and my twin needed a car and they weren’t driving any more) Then a few months later Justin got a new job and the new company gave him a company car. So he had no use for the other car. It was sitting there for over a year, collecting dust and insurance was being paid on it. So my brother went to my father and told him that he would like to sell the car. That was last month. My father found a buyer and my brother got the check Friday. He said to me,
He did not think it was right to take all the money when the gift came from our grand parents. He knew that with our sister buying a condo, our older bro redoing the floor in his kitchen and me with all my trips, we could use some money so he is going to give us each $1,000. … 1000! Dollars?! I swear, he’s going directly to heaven. It’s not like he doesn’t have bills. He has a mortgage and a car and they are going to be doing things with their backyard and plus some of their furniture for their house is not paid off yet. But he says he would feel guilty. I wont complain but I don’t understand his logic. The funny thing was, I was going to ask him for a few hundred dollars when I heard he was selling the car because I had paid for the hotel and flight for our trip to Ohio because he didn’t have the money at the time and although I don’t make much money, I could afford it as I don’t have many bills. So this will cover our trip and pay for my bon jovi tickets for NJ. (with nothing to spare)

Sunday was mother’s day. It was nice.
We had Lindsay’s parents over and my parents and sister came. My older bro could not make the lunch because he had to work. We had a BBQ with salads, pasta salad, coleslaw and it was all home made. There was grilled veggies, burgers, hotdogs and two types of grilled chicken. My mom said she didn’t want anything so we just did what we’ve done the last few years, buy the parents flowers. They both loved it.
We left there about 4pm and drove home just in time to turn around and go back out for dinner. I was NOT hungry neither was anyone else but we already made plans to take my grand parents to a sea food place and my older bro joined us for that. I got to listen to the Celtics game in the car on the way up and while we were waiting for a table. We had a nice dinner. I had a dish of penne and meatballs. It was huge and somehow I managed to eat half of my dish. My older bro commented “I thought you weren’t hungry?” I wasn’t. but I can eat a lot though. Hehe

We got home and I finished watching the redsox beat the big bad Yankees.

I found out a pitcher for the Oakland A’s pitched a no hitter that day. I was a little mad I didn’t hear anything about it before then but I was very happy for the kid. It was only the 19th perfect game in the 141 years of recorded major league baseball history.

I had a lot of problems with my speach program and windows 7 that came with my new computer. Eventually, after getting a headache from the stupid program, I finally called the company. After talking to the guy and downloading things and testing them out... two hours later, I hung up the phone. I am still fooling around with the new computer, trying to figure out where they put everything, but I like it. Even if they did move some keys around and I dont know how to turn the volume up-down. This computer has 320 g of memory and a lot of something else and it is supose to be faster and yada yada yada. It's good. .

Lastly, I want to talk about something that is very important to me.
When the president was running and eventually won, everyone made it a big deal that he was the first “black” president. When the Gov of MA was elected, same thing. And the mayor of los Angeles was the first mex-american, that was a huge deal. And for those who lived it or read in their history book, it was a huge deal with JFK being the first Roman Catholic president. So why are people not making a big deal that our next supreme justice of America, Elena Kagan will be the first female Jewish supreme court Justus? I hope I get to see the first Jewish president of America in my lifetime.

I LOVE BETTY WHITE! She's hysterical!!

Wow!! that's awesome that he's giving everyone the money!

I love windows 7. I used the beta version before it came out as a free trial, and it was amazing. Lot of things to figure out though, but it's nice! I wish I had it on my current computer
