Hey there.... I must say your profile intrigued me. Plus i like Jonathans. One of my best friends is named Jonathan. Do you go by JOn or Jonathan?
I must say I admire you, some people when they have something some might conceive as a handicap they start to dwell on that and feel sorry for themselves.
What types of poems do you write? I love writing though recently I have lost my way at finding inspiration.

HI, I must say your profile intreagues me as well. The first thing I read was that you are Jewish too and you live right next door. My favorite restaurant is in your town, Royal Gardin... yum.
I have been writing poetry since I was in 8th grade however, it has only been the last few years that I realized (or people have convinced me) that it is a talent. Most of my poetry I get the ideas from the music I listen to. Some of my poems have to do with growing up with a tough life (aka EVERCLEAR) while others have to do about having a long time friendship (a lot of Bon Jovi songs) and of course writing about finding that soulmate.
I like your name too. brown eye girl. sha la la la la, brown eye girl. hehe.
So, do I get to know your given name?
take care, brown eye girl

Hey there. Yes I am Jewish... live in Peabody.. been here less than a year. I have not been to the Royal Garden.
My name is Leigh. Pronounced Lee... I am not sure if you have a program that speaks whats written. I know your profile said that you were blind, so I assume you have some sort of program for the computer.
I write poems about friendship, love and nature.
I have been writing since 8th grade as well. So is chinese your favorite type of food... I am a big fan... i also love japanese. thai and asian fusion like PF changs. Though my favorite meal is lobster... i love italian food and my favorite dessert is tiramisu.

Good evening Leigh. hmm nice name.
Yep, I have a screen reading program that says whatever I type or whatever my curser comes across. I use a lot of hot keys and function keys. I can go letter by letter or word by word so I could have figured out how to spell your name but probably wouldn’t have because as you guessed, I would have assumed it was spelt Lee.
I am a very picky eater but what I do enjoy, I love. Unfortunately, I don’t care for sea food but anywhere you get lobster, I can probably get a stake. Chinese food is my favorite. I go to PF Changs once in a while. My favorite dessert is anything with strawberries. Strawberry shortcake, strawberry cheese cake, strawberry Sunday, strawberry daiquiri.
Although I am not a huge movie buff, I must say that I have never heard of The Sound of Music. What’s it about?
I don’t want to make this too long, even though I tend to write a lot, since you are a teacher, I would like to mention that one of my 2 thesis reports I did was on “teacher’s knowledge on assistive technology for students with physical disabilities.” I looked into the teacher’s program at every Massachusetts college which had elementary teaching program. If that seems interesting to you, I could tell you more about it later.
Talk to you soon Brown Eye girl sha la la la la Leigh

Hey there. Strawberries are indeed delish... as is a good steak dinner. Its been a busy day, so this will be a short response... went to work today and then the gym then back to work for a staff meeting. But its been a good day. Just busy..... i plan to be in bed by ten... but we'll see.
the sound of music is a classic movie... maybe your program isnt reading it right... its one of those movies that everyone knowss... the Von Trap family... julie Andrews is a nanny to this man's family... i think.. 7 or 8 kids... long time since ive seen it... hold on I will just look at the DVD. 7 children that was my first guess.... the movie is from 1965, Christopher Plummer plays the father.... julie andrews plays maria.... a nun from a convent. The father is captain Von trapp.. he is an Austrian widower.
Anyhow.... great movie.
Pardon my typing its been a long day. Good, busy but long....Anyhow. I must sign off but wanted to respond to your message. Speak to you soon

Wow really/... that shocks me, I dont think I have ever met anyone that hasnt heard of the sou d of music.... did u have tv growig up? you know the song, these are a few of my favorite things... raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens, brown peper packages tied up with string, these are a few of my favorite things, when the dog bites when the bees sting, when I am feeling sad, i simply remember my favorite things and then i dont feel soooooo bad!!!
foxwoods sounds like a good time... go u!!! quit while your ahead!!
Jonathan
Jan. 20, 2011 – 4:33am
*soft laugh* you said the movie was from the 60's, right? I grew up in the 80's and unless your age is waaaaay off, you pretty much did too. When I was growing up I watched Disney, Muppets, Fraggles and of course big bird and company. I'm trying to bite my tongue, not to be sly, but I like my tongue so I will just be witty and say "well, I guess we'll have to watch the movie together some time."
I should have quit while I was ahead. Although I walked away up with 40 of their money plus what ever I spent on dinner.
You have any siblings?
Do you like sports... at all?

I am 29. But ya there are classic movies that even if they are older, u still have seen em... or heard of em... like the way we with barbara streisand.. ive never seen it i havce heard of it.... its like the beatles.... even though its before your time... everyone has heard of the beatles.
Jonathan
Jan. 20, 2011 – 6:58pm
Well, I guess it's kind of funny because my parents never exposed us to their music or to their movies. If my mom wasnt one of the biggist Barbara fans in the world, I would only know her from SNL. Same with the Beatles, if Tiffany never sang "I saw him standing there" I would never have known that the Beatles sang the origenal version. Growing up, we listened to Kiss108, WZOU (later known as jamming 94.5) and WBCN and WAAF. I am pretty sure they never played the Beatles on any of those channels.

Wow sounds like you were very sheltered... and need to be exposed more to different genres....even kids learn about these thingsin school.,.. often they will be talked about in current movies as well...
but enough about that... lol
as I watch more old school.....Who's the Boss.... but Bones, my fave show comes back tonight after Idol... i dont watch every idol, though i do find it entertaining.
Do you like music? Favorites? SOngs? Bands? Singers?
I love so many different styles. Jewel, Taylor, Peal Jam, Rascal Flatts, I love Lady A, Jack johnson and JOhn myer... though my all time favorite song is "You've Got a friend" by James Taylor. More old school.... lol
I am not sure if your program can depict LOL which is Laugh out Loud L O L .
So do you live with ur parents? Do you have siblings?
Jonathan

Hi... I know this is not something to mention when you're trying to get to know a great lady, but if you watched this evening's news, there was a kidnap-killing in revere... that is the house I work at and the victom is my coworker and the client is my client. Needless to say, I am in shock right now. Your email put a smile on my face. So thank you.
Who's the boss...now you are talking the good old shows. My favorite show growing up is Fullhouse. I was obsessed with that show.
Bon jovi is my all time favorite band. I am seeing him the day after my b day in Boston. It will be my ... too many times to admit. Bryan adams, REM, Nirvana, pearl jam, Metallica, Boyz2men (and the entire east coast family), (old) Madonna, GNR, everclear and a band that a few ppl think is just a one hit wonder, Blessid union of souls "she likes me for me" but they sing so many other songs that people know, they just dont know its the same band.
You mentioned Jewel, I saw her first in 1995 at the Mix fest and she was on a little side stage by herself. She has an amazing voice.
My favorite song of all time is GNR's Patience.
AND YES, I go to a LOT of concerts.
LOL stop blaming my speach program. I know I know you dont know much about it. *smile* but "I adapt to the unknown", when I hear my comp pronounces lol I know what people are refering to.
I do live with my parents. However, have been saving money to buy a condo so when I do find a secure fulltime job, I can just buy and not have to pay rent to pay someone else's bill. I don't currently work fulltime because of the down sizing of my company and this stupid thing that most counseling companies require called a "driver's license". Which, I dont think you want me to have.
I have an older brother name Robert. He works for comcast. I have a younger sister who is a school guidance counselor, a professional women's football player and coaches both football and track-field for both boys and girls in her school.
I have a twin brother name Justin. He's an architect. He's married to Lindsay, who works at North Eastern. They have a dog named Lucic.
I have two really close friends who are both married. John, who I have been friends with for 23 years now and his wife Kat. Kat calls me her second husband because sometimes John treats her... hmm not nice and she'll say "I am going to sit with my other husband" (because I could never do what he does. But they are great people and they have a 2 year old name Holden. He's named after the character in Catcher in the Rye. I only bring my best friend up here because They'll want to know about you to make sure you are good enough for me. (which, I am sure you are.)
My other best friend is Jeff. He was my college roomy for a few years. His wife is Alicen and they have twin girls who are 5. They call me "uncle Jonny" while Holden is trying to call me "uncle Jonathan". we're working on that.
So... what about you?
Sorry this was a long email.

Wow that was indeed quite the email. i hope i didnt offend you about your program.. honestly... I am a curious person, but mean nothing by it.
I heard about the incident in revere... the victim found in lynn. we live in a sick crazy world. I think its great you seem close with your family. I adore my family, my three sisters... are the rocks are often need.
My sister in Andover, Suzanne is married to Jeff... Suz i call her or Suzie. they have 2 kids, riley, my niece. SHe is nine, just turned 9 this month, and her brother owen is 7. I babysit for them quite a bit and I am very close to them.
My sister dana who is learning disabilities....( we can leave it like that for now) she lives in assisted living in east bridgewater. Her boyfriend of three years lives with his family in stoughton. He also is learning disabled. His family has taken her in, as my dad lives in florida..... she is there in stoughton every weekend.
Julie, my eldest sister, lives in Florida with her husband Joel.
None of my friends are married yet. Though Liana and Craig 2 of my best friends will be getting married in July. I went to high school with craig and met liana my freshman year of college. They have a condo in west Bridgewater.
I dont have any close friends with children yet. I love my job though... everyday i get hundreds of hugs ad kisses... i kiss boo boos and i love my job, There isnt a day that I am not told I love you, and I feel like such an important person to these kids.
I didnt mention my mom. When i was 16 she was diagnosed with cancer. Brain tumor, and the summer of my senior year of high school she passed away. It forever changed me.
I am doing the Haverhills relay for life for the American cancer society in june.
Ok this is a very long email. So thats it for now folks. talk soon

no no no, you didnt offend me in any way. I am a curius person too.
I want you to ask questions. Unless you are a mind reader. Which in that case, you already know this entire email and all about me.
I have taken many trainings on various things for my work, (like first aide and CPR, OSHA, NAPPI, ...) and at the end of each training I always tell the trainers that they all have done a great job because we (as learners) all passed the exam. So that goes to you and your little people. You get so much love from them because you give them the love and knowledge. People don't get that way on their own you know. *smile*
I enjoy my profession.but after what happened today, I rather not think about work or anything which has to do with it. Even though, I do want to know how everyone else, the other clients and employees, are doing. I just think it is wrong that no one ever called me from my company to inform me of this news and I had to learn about it on the channel 4-5-7 news.
You did speak of your mother in thought... the banana bread. It is things like that banana bread and the smell of it that will always keep her in your heart. It sounds like you have a lovely family. It's funny, my twin and wife also live in stoughton. My sister lives in Salem, my older bro in Chumpford.
I got to pay up for a bet I made with my uncle Joe on Sunday. I bet him a dinner at Kowloons (you know of kowloons?) that the Patriots will win. So I am sure we'll do that during the JETS game on Sunday.
TATA for now
p.s. Would you like to read a poem of mine?

Jan. 21, 2011 – 7:37pm
I am glad I didnt offtend you... one question i have that i have not asked yet.... were you born blind or was it the outcome of an accident?
I do know of kowloons... the food is ok.. i think its the ambience that you pay for. I totally misspelled that.
thats right I remember telling you about the banana bread now..... too many emails to recall.
Thats funny ur twin and his wife live in stoughton too. I grew up in easton, which is next door.
That pats game i heard was quite the disappointment. Bummer bummer bummer.
Any big plans for the weekend.... I am trying to fiugure out what I wanna do tongiht, lol..
I woudl love to read one of your poems

I just got home from seeing a Billy Joel-Elton John impersonaters concert with my mom. It was good.
I had vision till the age of 14 which is a crappy year to lose it. It started going at 6 years old. Now I was young when all this happened so I dont know all the medical terminology nore do I want to know.
I had 20-20 till I was 6 then I had cataract surgery and calcium deposit form on the surface of both eyes which I would need surgery to have that removed as well. However, the calcium deposit would reform every 6-12 months so I would have a few surgeries a year it seemed on my eyes. Then when I was in 5th grade, there was hemoraging above the right eye and at the time, that was the better of the two eyes. I had a detach retna as well and so I would have surgery . I remember my mom saying to me that the doctors are going to try all they can but they dont know what will be the result. So after 2 weeks of wearing a patch after the surgery I got to take it off and I didnt see anything from the right eye. The calcium would continue to form and at the age of 14 I decided to have the surgery done awake. I had it done early that year and it came out fine but this time, it did not turn out so fine and when i took the patch off from this surgery, all I could see was a pin hole of vision. The eye can only handle so much scraping. All the scars from all those surgeries in that short 8 year spand left me without vision at 14 years old.
hmm what other questions do people ask me. I did go to public school. I do not have a seeing eye dog but rather my white cane. I use "the ride", a survice provided by the MBTA to get around independantly. I did learn Braille and know it inside-out but because of computers, Braille is unfortunately becoming more a thing of the past.
I agree with you about Kowloons except their Saugus Chicken wings. if you enjoy garlic, you would love these. The only reason I mention Kowloons is, I live a hop, skip and jump away. So for my family it is just easy to go and come back. However, my mom has ciliac? she has to have gluton free and PF changs has an amazing menu for her. So we've been going there more and more.
I do not have any plans for the weekend, except watch football.
John just got home from a work trip to Germany, so hopefully we'll go out tonight so I can hear all about it and I can tell him about the work tragity.
If you got no plans at all. Maybe you'd like to talk to this stranger from the net on the phone sometime? I think I have a monster voice but I can't find anyone who will agree with me. Maybe it's just because no one likes their own voice.
my cel:
This is my favorite poem of mine. Stephanie is one of my favorite female names (thanks Stephanie Tanner), and I think this brings out some of my personality traits. Let me know what you think.

My little Stephanie
I hold you in my arms and I stare into your sleeping beauty
Wondering how I step into this fantasy, your mom what a cutie
I just hope that I can live up to your expectations
I have a high school diploma to show for my education
My hands are all callused and bloody
So I can support my family by making money
This little apartment, and no vacation
I am just a carpenter for the duration
I was outcast and the bench warmer of the team
Your mom, she was the home coming queen
All the boys wanted her
the basketball captain he gave her diamond and fur
me? Flowers and chocolates, my family was poor
and now she is my wife who I love and adore
Oh sweet Stephanie
For all the love you brought to me
How precious life is, you make me see
I can’t promise you the Nike shoes but I can give you what you need
My little Stephanie
Thanks for all that you gave to me
A reason to work long hours
To get my hands dirty, and they build a tower
Coming home from being tired and than taking a shower
My lovely wife makes us dinner
We never go out, I wouldn’t want a baby sitter
Rocking in this chair
singing to you with a prayer
the kings with the money will not corrupt you
the boys will treat you with care
your dreams are filled with happiness, no despair
there will be many dresses you will wear
Batz mitzvah, prom and than your wedding dress
you will wear the crown of the prettiest.

Hey,
I like the poem i thought it was good, nicely written and very descriptive.
I was sorry to hear about your vision lost, but sometimes shit happens, and you jsut have to live and go on, I sometimes thik those thigs make you a stronger, and more compassionate person.
I was always wondering if braille was going to die out because of the computer.
Itrs cool that the MBTA has a special system for the blind. I never knew that. Do you get rides alot of the time whn the MBTA is unavailable or out of hte way?
Let me give you my number
Jonathan
Jan. 22, 2011 – 6:05pm
"the ride" is for elderly and people with disabilities. It runs 5AM-2AM and the only time it closes down is when the entire MBTA shuts down.
oo I feel special, you put me on your favs. hehe
Dinner time. I will call you tomorrow.
