A TALK, dont tell

11/24/2009

first, I love having a place I can come to that none of my friends-family know about. If I was on facebook or myspace or wherever else, I would not be able to share my thoughts and feelings that I do here including my frustrations of not having a gf, not having a full time job and not being able to do everything I want to do because I am blind.

My uncle Joe, who is 51 years old, is over for the week. He is a really cool guy. He's not my real uncle, just a really really close friend of the family.

I was sitting in my den listening to sports center and writing my story when he came in. He sat down and said "I can not believe your mother did not tell me sooner. I said, about amanda? He says oh, you know? (I thought he meant about her buying a house) well, what are you talking about? I asked. He said that Amanda has a friend name Stacey who lives in NY. I know of her. Joe says "well, they are more than just friends." WO! what?

O.k., I kinda had an idea. My sister never had a real serius boyfriend. She has gone on dates with guys and introduced one guy in college as her boyfriend but nothing that lasted more than two months that I knew about. She also plays on an all women's professional football team and a lot of those girls are lesbians but still.

Apparently my sister told my parents and they are probably in denial or still in shock. My sis and her friend Stacey went over my aunty Sarah's house for dinner last Friday night. Amanda told Aunty sarah and my cousin heidi about it and they are very cool about it.
(all this is from Joe's mouth)
Joe texted amanda at some point and talked to her about it. (since he is gay himself, he has no problem talking to her about it) he says at first, amanda was just confused and didnt know but a few weeks later, she told Joe that she and stacey are defanately more than just friends. Joe asked if she thought I knew, and amanda said that he would probably know by now since my parents know. (how would I know if no one tells me?)

Joe told me not to tell anyone that he told me and I wont.

I am happy for Amanda that she is happy.
I am actually jealous of her.

I am still a bit shocked though.

That's great news for your sister. As long as she's happy, it doesn't matter who it is with. That's wonderful news!

ryc: you probably will not meet the amanda that everyone else knows because people are most comfortable to be themselves around their family. she might be sweet as sugar with everyone else, but that's probably a facade that she puts on to make people think she's perfect when the bitch is probably who she really is.

ryc: well, that could be too. if nobody has been talking about her being a lesbian all these years, then maybe she does not feel that she can be herself around the family? maybe that's why she is miserable around the family. if your parents are still in denial and she can't talk about it or doesn't feel comfortable, then that might be why she's so unhappy and bitchy around you all. Sometimes people are their most free to be who they are around their family and sometimes they can't be themselves around their family. It depends on the person and the family, I guess.

It doesn't matter the gender that you fall in love with, just as long as that person makes you happy! So I'm happy for her!
