I know you are all dying to hear how my training went, right?
You all want to know how I sat there, bored, looking up sports stuff on my computer and emailing a former coworker to tell him how bored I was while giving answers once in a great while so they think I was paying attention. Maybe you almost care about how I did on the test. Out of the 67 questions, There was about 4 or 5 that I had no idea and were guesses. so, ok, here's the drum role, hmm or is it a drum roll mmm. I got a 100. The only one in the class. Good thing I didnt pay attention, I may have got a question wrong if i would have paid attention.
THE DATE
I got home from work, pulled out my clothes, dress pants and a blue colared shirt. I took a shower and shaved. I put the shirt and pants in the drier for a few minutes to take out any wrinkles there may be. I got dressed and was ready to go.
My mom had got me flowers to bring over. (I wouldn’t have time in between work-the date if she didn’t get them during the day. My father drove me and I was a little nurvice. Mostly because I didn’t know what she was making for dinner and I am a very picky eater plus I had my father drive me.
We get there and she lives in a nice apartment building. We saw her name on the call button and pressed it a few times but nothing happened. A guy was coming out so we walked in and walked around. When you walk in, the hall splits to the right and to the left. To the left was 12 11 10 ... to the right was 14 16 17 no 15. So we went back to the lobby and wrang her bell a few more times and she must have heard us chatting, her apartment was directly right of the first set of doors, off the lobby.
She opened the door and said hi. We turned where her voice was coming from. I thanked my father for bringing me and then handed Ruth the flowers. She thanked me and got something to put the flowers in I said to her that she would have to give me a grand tore. She said well, you are in the dining room right now, where there is a table for 12. There is a den area off to your right where there is a tv and couch and there is also a little 2-4 of a kitchen and my bedroom is down the hall.
She led me to the table. She told me that she made chicken with an orange glaze. I couldn’t tell her that I didn’t like Chicken either. I told myself that I would try what ever she made. She also had rice and salad.
Hmm in the Jewish Religion, Friday night at sundown is Shabbats which is a holiday. It goes back to how G.D rested on the 7th day and if you are really really Orthidoc religious, you are not premidded to turn on any electricity, nothing modern, including driving cars. You are suppose to walk to temple. And since I'm not the best Jew in the world, I don’t know all that stuff.
I know there are candles to be lit, and She said the blessing for the candles and the chelli rolls (Jewish bread) and I offered and said the blessing over the wine. I'm not sure if I ever had a "shabbat's dinner" but it felt nice and comfortable I was relaxed.
I had the salad with this very good dressing that my tired mind cant think of. I had most of the yummy Chelli Roll and then... I tried the chicken, I hate my taste buds, we'll leave it at that. I had the rice and more salad. We chatting all along. Just don’t ask me what we talked about lol. I did ask her about her b=hobbies. She said that she likes to have friends over or go out for drinks. I thought about it and asked the q a different way, so what do you do when you get home from work? She says she reads, watches some tv and she nits. She asks me, I said "besides sports?" I listen to music, chat on line, write my poems, and play some on line games.
After she had cleaned up from dinner, she goes I have a crazy idea. Ok? I want dessert. (that's crazy? Lol) There is an ice cream shop down the street we could walk to or, (she paused) yes? We could go to Mike's pastery. (World famious bakery for at least 4 generastions) I said, we can go there. She wanted to take a cab so we walked up the street a bit then grabbed a cab to the south end. We were across the street from the place so I was standing next to her and hand my hand sorta by my side and she took my hand in hers and walked across the street holding hands. I know I was smiling.
We walk in and the place was packed. We had to wait at least, 20 minutes to get to the counter and they have a few lines going too. She had read off the list of canoli's. I ended up having strawberry, which was just amazing. When we finally got it, we walked down the street a bit and sat on benches, over looking a few waterfalls. We chatted a little bit but mostly eat our amazing desserts. I could only eat 2/3 rd of mine so I put mine back in the box and we walked around a little bit and she said she was tired, I was tired too so we got a cb, went back to her place. As soon as we got out of the cab, she asked if it was ok if she drove me home because shewas tired. I said yup, it's been a long day for me too. So I took her hand and she led me to her car. I got in and she drove me home. We talked a little bit about Monday night. (she got us tickets to the patriots Egles pre season game) so she'll pick me up at 5, we'll go to Red Robin's which is in the same plaza as the stadium and then go to the game.
We pull up to my house, we tell each other how nice the night was. I lean over for a hug, and she turns her face slightly and kisses me...on the lips. *smile* ok, so it wasn’t a passionate frentch kiss, but eh, baby steps. I returned her kiss with one of my own. I take my leftover yummy pastry and go into my house a smiling happy camper.
But I'm sure reading about my class was more fun than the date for my readers
p.s. I just saw this on FB with a picture
The beautiful flowers Jon got me. The photo doesn't do it justice. |
