This was it. The day was finally here. After a week of helping my mom clean for Passover, (which involved pulling out all the pots and pans and wiping down the insides of each cabinate) enough was complete for my mom to be able to go to the Bon Jovi concert with me. Since my NJ cousin Hayley was coming to my house for a few days, we met up at the casino for lunch on saturday. I had a burger that was just ok, but it came with cold slaw that I enjoyed and waaayyy toooo saulty potato salad. We also got onion rings to share which were amazing. We walked around a little bit before my mom and I went into a casino where Hayley departed from us but not before I gave her my house key so she could come and go from our house if she wanted because she was also visiting some other cousins of ours for a few hours. My mom and I played the slots till about 4;45. We went to our hotel and checked in and took a nap for an hour. We got to the concert hall in the casino about 7pm. We went in and our seats were way up, but since we were right behind the stage, we were actually pretty close. Some other band came out and played first for a half hour then there was a half hour break before Bon Jovi came on.

There was one point where there was a row of people (who paid like a grand) sitting on the stage and he walked down the line, kissing some of the women who probably thought they died and went to heaven. Their faces was seen by all as it was projected on the big screen. Another time he walked behind them in the first real section of the croud and had people sing along with him in the croud. At one point he had the entire band come and play with him in the croud.
Ritchy was just amazing with his double guitar. David Bryan was great on the piano and also did a few songs on the acordian and tico was, tico with the drums.
My mom said there were people of all ages at this concert including some very little kids who's bed time was 7;30 and some old folks who were in their 70's. Most of them were around my age and a bit older. So from 30-45.
Bon Jovi and Ritchy were goofing on each other a lot and my mom said you could just tell they were having such a great time.
With about 10 minutes to go my mom asks me what they have not done yet. I said "wanted dead or alive and living on a prayer" and sure enough, Bon jovi with his cowboy hat on, asking "are there any cowboys in the house?" When they were done with the set and everyone was clapping and the members of bon jovi were hugging each other. (that's some real manly love there)
After the concert my mom and I went back to the michines to play a bit more. I was starving so about 1;50 we found in a foodcourt, Chinese food. Since the place was closing at 2AM, I would be the last person. Do to this, I ordered an order of dumplings and she just gave me the rest of them. (9 instead of 6) and veggies that she piled so high that she couldnt close the box and that was really good. We played for a bit more before we went back to our hotel where I actually got a solid 7+ hours of sleep. My mom and I had a contennentle breakfast before heading home.
AND not that anyone would care but later in the day I went to my older brothers for a baseball fantasy draft. It was quite interesting. I ended up with a very good pitching staff and a good enough office.
And now the count down to May 27thbegins for Bon Jovi opening up the New Giant Stadium. |
