Friday
Dinner with family
It started off being just my immediate family but my mom invited her sister and her grand son. My father picked up my grand parents. My sister invited two of her friends over. My uncle was staying the week so he was around. My twin invited his friend over and my dear friend from bloop, Nikki was staying with me an my family for the week end.
My mom made a nice meal with salad and kanishes, baked chicken, chicken salad, Latkies, and a few other side dishes.
Let me back up. Nikki went with me to a RedSox playoff baseball game this year. We had a fun time together even though the Redsox did lose. We had plans for her to spend a week end with me and my family a few week ends ago. Something got in the way and she was unable to do so. She had this week off from work and I had no plans so I invited her to come this past week end. It was a bit interesting since it was Chanukah and my family was having our family Chanukah party on Friday. We also had tickets for… well, I will get back to that later.
My dad took me to go pick up Nikki at the train station. I was a bit nervous. I know how inquiring my family can be. I introduced her to my sister and her friends. My twin Justin and his wife Lindsay along with their friend Jeff had met her before when we were in Boston for the game. I showed her to her room she would be staying in and than we went up stairs to join the party. I introduced her to my mom and others along the way. She seems to be comfortable. Dinner was nice.
Candles
It was now time to light the Chanukah candles. We all gathered around the candles and said the blessings while lighting the candles. In my house, the Chanukah man “hides” the presents somewhere in the house so my little cousin and my twin looked around the house to see where the Chanukah Man left the presents. We all exchanged presents. I gave my sister in law and twin both CDs and my sis and I gave our older bro a game. I gave Nikki tickets to Disney on ice for Sunday to go with my family. I was unsure if she would enjoy it but she likes Disney so I figured she would enjoy it. I had a present for my cousin Heidi and her son Jailen as well as the same gift for Justin and Lindsay. Since Heidi was sick and home, I had Jailen call Heidi so she could feel she was a part of it. I than gave Lindsay and Jailen each a bag. In the bag was a promotional redsox shirt with a … Brick from Fenway park. Everyone was so excited. My twin and his wife gave me two shirts. One was a Redsox Lester T-shirt very nice and the other, (Unless you watch ESPN it may not make scents) An ESPN shirt that says “ DAHDAHDAH”. Nikki bought me a very cool t-shirt as well. A Boston Celtics Allen 20.
We all sat back down for dessert. I was so full from dinner I just had tea but there was plenty of goodies.. My mom also had sugar free things for those who were diabetic. The party slowly broke up and Nikki and I went to my room and watched the first half of the Celtics game. We eventually watched a movie. We decided on fever Pitch, a baseball movie about this guy who is obsessed about the Redsox but he falls for this beautiful woman and he has to choose, redsox or the lady. We cuddled a bit and that was nice.
Saturday
Twin river RI
My parents had mentioned going to Twin River casino on Saturday so when my father had woke me I told him that we wanted to go to the casino as well. So after breakfast and everyone was ready we were off to the Casino. There is this one machine I love playing called “MR Cashman. My mom saw two cashmans opened so Nikki and I sat at them. It was fun. We moved around while my parents were on their own as well. Nikki had won 41 dollars on a Indian princess machine but that was after being down a few dollars. We were both down and up all day. I know I had fun, I always have fun at a casino but it was just that much more fun being without my parents and their friends but rather a friend of my own. My parents ate about 4;30 but Nikki and I were not hungry. We went for dinner about 5;30. I wanted to go to this really good Irish pub they have but was not sure what she would want. My parents went to Taco Bell at the food court. If she wanted mex, I would not have minded food court Chinese food but after reading the menu, she wanted to go and I love the burgers there. She got a soup and I got a salad. She got a boiled dinner and I got a burger. The food was really good. She said her food was close to how her grand mother use to make it. The bill came and I didn’t have enough cash to pay for my half so I put it on my credit card. She said she would give me the cash later but being the nice guy, I wouldn’t of taken it but she forgot about it anyways. We did a bit more gambling and than we went home. No one won but I only lost 38 dollars. Not bad for 5 hours of gambling.
My dad wanted to go for a drink at Kowloons, a Chinese restaurant near my house. They also had kino. We weren’t hungry, but Nikki and I went with my father and my uncle Joe. Nikki and I drank and they drank and ate. The numbers I played was the Celtics starting lineup: 5-9-20-34-43. My dad got the tickets and got Nikki a quick pick. I think she was very surprised by that. I had a strawberry Dacury and everyone else had mitis. I had won 22 dollars and my Nikki won a few. She asked my dad how much she owes him for the ticket and he said, that she doesn’t owe him anything. He got it so she didn’t feel left out. It was nice.
We went home and she wanted to watch slap shot, an old hockey movie, I rather Good will hunting, but we’ll watch that next time. I only saw slap shot one other time. I don’t recall it being as funny as it was. We did cuddle again during the movie and that was nice.
Sunday I woke up excited and a bit tired. I got up, took a shower and put the football pregame shows on. Eventually I went up for a drink. We were going to go for lunch in a few hours and didn’t want to spoil my anticipated yummy lunch. Nikki was having breakfast and she went down to take a shower. I stayed up stairs for a bit to watch the football stuff. My mom and I were going to drop Nikki off after Disney on ice so I went down stairs to give her a hug and kiss in private so we wouldn’t be embarrassed. We went up stairs and we headed out with my mom and Jailen.
We met up with Justin and Lindsay at Boston beer works. A favorite of everyone’s. They Patriots game was on and Justin was telling me what was going on. I got onion rings for my appetizer and buffalo wings for my meal. They were so good. They also got nachos and hummus for appetizers. Justin got a chicken sandwich, Lindsay shrimp, Jailen got pasta, Nikki something that was named green monster and my mom filled up on appetizers. We left at half time of the Patriots game and they were up. We walked across the street to the Garden for the ice show.
My family and I have been going to Disney on ice since I was 3 years old. I get so excited for this event. First Mickey, minny, goofy and Donald were on the ice welcoming everyone and setting up the show. If you never been to a Disney on Ice show, it is like shorten versions of Disney movies played out on ice. This year, Lion King, the little mermaid, lelo and stitch and peter pan. It was very nice It lasted about 2 hours. It was a lot of fun. I think Nikki liked it. At the end Mickey and minny and the rest of the
crew were on the ice. When they leaved, we did too. The patriots ended up winning but since both Miami and Baltimore won, the Patriots didn’t make the playoffs.
We said by to Justin and Lindsay and drove Nikki to the train station. It was a very nice day and a very nice week end over all.
I look forward to hanging out with Nikki again really soon.
SIDE NOTE:Nikki left her phone charger at home. Knowing she has the same phone company, I asked her if it was the same charger as mine. It was. Pulling out my phone, she said that we had the same phone. I think that is strange of all strange. Of all the hundreds of phones, we have the same one.
