Choking on redsox news of Lowell

I woke up litterally choking on this news I heard of Mike Lowell being traded to Texas for a prospect catcher.

I dont get any of what Theo Epstein (redsox GM) has done during this off season. 

First, we let Alex Gonzalez walk, maybe the best defensive SS available for a 34 year old Marco scutaro, who we are paying nearly twice the price Toronto
gave Gonzalez and is no where the defensive player but because he has a good on base percentage? (plus we give up 2 first round draft picks)

We have not signed Jayson Bay yet. Which, I understand because he's waiting  to hear from other teams and to see where other free agents sign.

We better not sign Matt Holiday if we dont get Bay. Holiday's good years were in the rocky high thin air and his bad season was in the American League. with oakland. 

And now Lowell may not be around? and we will pick up most of his 12m 2010 salory?

And the rumer mill says that we may sign another Scott boris guy in Beltre??? Beltre was a one hit (in the ass) wonder, (still wondering about that season)
when he hit 48 homeruns. (taking out that year, he averages 21 hr a year)  Not to mention he lied to MLB about his age. You are not allowed to be signed
till you are 16 and he was signed at 15, it was later discovered.  

I'm losing that "In Theo we trust" model
