Let's not forget 9-11

09/11/2009

Let's not forget what happen that morning of September 11, 2001.
As time passes we, as humen, tend to let the pain and hurt of any lost flow off of our shoulders. As the old quote goes, don't forget the past or you will be dumed to repete it.

I woke up that Tuesday morning and checked my email. My dad had sent me an email, it said to turn on the tv, NY was under attack.

I turned it on, seconds before tower two getting hit and going down.
I was stund. I was just, glued. I have no idea why, but when they started shutting down airports and as silly as it sounds, what made me really lose it, when I heard they had shut down Disney World. I remember saying, "they cant shout down Disney world. That cant be, can it?" My twin was sent home from work and he pulled me away from the tv and we watched... a disney movie.

Even today, 8 years later, there are still two huge holes in the ground where at one time, two of the tallest buildings stood in NYC. Many things to remind us of that attack on America.

We lost thousands of innocent people who thought they were going to work or to day care or to talk to their stock broker that day. People who were going cross country, from Boston to Oakland for vacation or to visit family members or for a business meeting. Fire people, police people and emergency people who gave their lives to save other people who they never knew.

Unfortunately, a group of bad apples spoiled it for the rest of the muslam people. Someone is pulled asside in line just because they are wearing a something on their head? Because of their skin color? because of the language they speak or where they are from? Isnt this the opposit of what America stands for?

I ask of you to take a minute on this day to remember the people we have lost.
Thank you
Jonathan

American girls and American guys will always stand up and salute;
Will always recognize
When we see ol' glory flying,
There's a lot of men dead,
So we can sleep in peace at night when we lay down our head.

My daddy served in the army,
Where he lost his right eye.
But he flew a flag out in our yard 'til the day that he died.
He wanted my mother, my brother, my sister and me
To grow up and live happy in the land of the free.

Now this nation that I love has fallen under attack.
A mighty sucker punch came flying in from somewhere in the back.
Soon as we could see clearly through our big black eye,
Man we lit up your world like the Fourth of July.

Hey Uncle Sam put your name at the top of his list,
And the Statue of Liberty started shaking her fist.
And the eagle will fly,
And there's gonna be Hell,
When you hear Mother Freedom start ringing her bell!
It's gonna feel like the whole wide world is raining down on you...
Brought to you courtesy of the Red, White and Blue!

Oh, Justice will be served and the battle will rage.
This big dog will fight when you rattle his cage
You'll be sorry that you messed with the US of A
'Cuz we'll put a boot in your ass
It's the American way.

Hey Uncle Sam put your name at the top of his list,
And the Statue of Liberty started shaking her fist.
And the eagle will fly,
And there's gonna be Hell,
When you hear Mother Freedom start ringing her bell!
And it'll feel like the whole wide world is raining down on you...
Brought to you courtesy of the Red, White and Blue!

Of the Red, White and Blue..
Of my Red, White and Blue...

****************************
If tomorrow all the things were gone,
I’d worked for all my life.
And I had to start again,
with just my children and my wife.

I’d thank my lucky stars,
to be livin here today.
‘ Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
and they can’t take that away.

And I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

From the lakes of Minnesota,
to the hills of Tennessee.
Across the plains of Texas,
From sea to shining sea.

From Detroit down to Houston,
and New York to L.A.
Well there's pride in every American heart,
and its time we stand and say.

That I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

And I’m proud to be and American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.
