200. My Nirvana
9-23-2010
Jonathan
I am a passionate person
I have a few things that are my poison
But it must be known
I’ve had my heart rip from me and I’ve grown
I am going to lay it on the line right here for you to see
And I will offer no apologies
On the top of this list
My grand par gave me some assist
It’s the love of my life
It’s my inanimate object wife
It makes me happy, it takes away my fears and I never have to ask why
I scream, I shout and sometimes it makes me cry
With out it, I feel so empty
It’s stronger than passion, more intense than love and it’s more real than any fantasy
It comforts me at my darkest times
It has provided me with some of my most happiest rhymes
And if you don’t know what it is yet
Give me a baseball ticket
The sweet sound of a hit
The intense pop of a glove
Baseball is my number one love
“Clearly, it's not just a game! If it was, then obviously I wouldn't care about it this much.” (Fallon, Jimmy) Fever Pitch, 2005
Everyone enjoys music
However, I have a special click
The lyrics inspires me and teaches me
The guitars, the drums, the keyboard, is a sweet melody
That voice
just makes me rejoice
It all goes together so perfectly
I love Bon Jovi
His music has changed, ebbs and flows
Poring out his heart and soul
Writing about hard times in America and in his own world
Tommy and Gina and their love, and about a runaway girl
He sings a lot about love and what it means
And dancing with the queen of new Orleans
Over 20 years he has sang to me
I have all his CD’s.
July 31, 1995 was my first concert
Hearing living on a prayer was the cherry on my dessert
I have since seen him 17 times
5 different states, the tickets cost more than a dime
Hopefully they’ll keep rocking for many years
Even when they’re in their 60’s, I don’t care
When I want to get away
And I have something to say
I sit down at my computer and type
Sometimes I’m not sure what I am going to write
Maybe it’s about love or heart breaks
Maybe it’s about hard times or my own aches
Sometimes it’s about sports
I write about my goals and dreams, the future of sort
However, I do it all with rhymes
Time after time
Only recently have I accepted it is a skill
Family and friends have enjoyed my poetry, even still
An idea pops into my head
Maybe I am listening to music from my bed
An image comes to mind
It’s one of a kind
With words, I write it down
A poem is what I have found
These things keep me sane
Help me get through any pain
Through winter’s snow or fall’s rain
When I am happy or sad, energized or drained
So long as I have the ability and tools
Listening to baseball, bon jovi and writing poems will be my jewel
