if I missed anything, I'm sorry but this is taking me forever to write and besides... I think this is long enough.
Enjoy

Dallas
I had a 7:30 AM flight with a layover…somewhere. When I finally got into Dallas Lisa was there waiting with her little Devin. He’s 3 years old. After hugs and kisses it was off to my vacation room. She asked me how my flight was and normal chatter. She knew I was hungry so she had put a pizza in the oven as soon as I got to her house. I went into my room and gathered all the gifts I brought for Devin and went into the living room. I bought two sets of vehicles, one being an army set. He liked those more. I brought two packages of bubbles that come with different designs to blow bubbles. I also bought a blow up dolphin for the pool. I was appointed to be the one to blow it up. Once I did that, Devin loved it… to use as a weapon and a attack dolphin who tried to eat me alive. I’m not sure if he had more fun attacking me or running away from me chasing-attacking him. He also liked when Lisa would blow the bubbles and he would go chase and try to catch the bubbles.
I had sent my mom flowers for Mother’s day. I felt bad that the company I chose didn’t deliver on Sundays so it had to be Saturday. I talked to my dad and he said he was home when they came to drop off the flowers and my mom was working. She called me when she got home. She was pleasantly surprised. She loved them. She said how beautiful they were. I got 24 multi colored roses.
Lisa’s …husband? Matt, (they’re not married by law but every way else they are) got home from work, and eventually we watched the Red Sox and Rangers game and had dinner. Lisa made burgers on the grill. They were good. She also made a potato, corn, a salad

Mother’s day
I had woke up and went into the kitchen where Lisa was. I had brought out the tickets to the game, the pre-paid parking pass, $20 for Olive Garden (Matt doesn’t like it there so I told her I would take her there for mother’s day dinner after the game) and a set of keys… She’s going to stay at my parents’ condo when she is in Massachusetts. I explained to her that she also has the parking spot that goes with the condo so she had a few keys there. She opened up the tickets and I had gave her the wrong envelope. I handed her the Minnesota tickets. So I went back and gave her the correct set of tickets. She said to me when I returned “do you realize you gave me $20 in Olive garden coupons?” yup. It’s part of your mother’s day gift.
Gifts. She gave me a huge hug and thanked me. Devin and Matt were already in the garage working on something. She had made me a bagel and as soon as I was done, we were out the door with a “have fun boys”, to Matt and Devin.
I was wearing my Red Sox Pedroia jersey and she was wearing her Napoli red Sox T-jersey I had bought her last year. We got to the stadium without much problem except that she had to go pee really really bad. We found parking two lots from the stadium. It was very close. She told me to hold on, she was going to go pee behind the car. I am still perplex how she does that. It wasn’t like she had a cup or anything to pee in to… anywho, the weather was nice. It was in the low 80’s.
We got in and walked up the ramp to the field. We were out in right field and she asked an usher where our seats were. The usher pointed way up in the grandstands. He asked if we would like to sit down there? Pointing down towards the front section of the bleachers. She said YAY! He explained to us that there is a photographer who has season tickets but tapes pictures before the game and then he walks around to get different shots. He usually tries to find two people who would like to sit in his seats and so he went down and talked to the guy. The guy waved us down. We sat in the 5th row. It was incredible. Lisa was saying how this is so awesome. I must be her lucky charm. I said that it’s mother’s day so it’s for you.
I had my head phones and Lisa was her normal crazy self. Sometimes saying things too loud that she shouldn’t because there are kids around lol and saying things like “we need a pitcher not a belly itcher” and “the right fielder has a nice ass” and “I love you big papi” my favorite “I got mustard on my boob” and of course her saying “I’m so hot my balls are sweating”
Unfortunately she was my only entertainment as my Red Sox played bad and lost.
During the 3rd inning, some guy in the first row wanted to buy Lisa and I beers. Again, Lisa said I was her good luck charm, She never gets free beers when she goes with Matt. She declined a beer for me since I don’t drink them but I told her she should have accepted. She could have had 2 free beers. During the 8th inning, the people who bought the beers walked past us and Lisa thanked them. The guy said that they were leaving and we could go sit in their seats…so to the front row of the bleachers we went. It was awesome. I could feel the openness of the field right in front of me. We made more friends down there. One guy was even a Red Sox fan even though he is from Texas.
So although the game wasn’t very fun, Lisa was and that makes my day. She was telling everyone, all her friends-family of our good luck.
After the game, people could go run around the bases but when we found the line, it was about a 2 hour line. Besides, we were hungry. I saved my appetite. She got an order of fries even though we had been making fun of how bad the food is and even the regular fries were bad. lol so we were off to part 2 of Mother’s day, Dinner at Olive Garden.
We got a little lost trying to find the restaurant. It was one of these places where you can see it but can’t figure out how to get there and the GPS didn’t help. We pulled up and there was a few parties waiting outside. Lisa didn’t think we would get in. We had both thought and admitted later on, if the wait was more than 30 minutes, we would find somewhere else. I had told Lisa to just ask how long of a wait it is for 2. So we went up the hostess stand and she asked how long the wait was for 2 people. She said there was no wait for 2 people. We were lead to a table for two. She asked me if I wanted her to read the menu for me. I said no, I’m going to get ziti with meat sauce. She was excited that she was going to get a salmon dish. She got a side of pasta since it only came with broccoli. We both got the all you can eat salad and bread sticks and since we had not eaten at the game, we were both starving. We wiped out 3 big bowls of salad and two orders of bread sticks. Everything was so good as always.
She kept talking about how lucky I am with all the luck we had at the game and getting right into the restaurant. I told her it was because of her and it being mother’s day.
When we got back to the house, I let Lisa have what was left of her mother’s day to spend with her family. Devin and Matt made a card and a cake. Lisa didn’t want any of the cake. I felt bad. Lisa asked where he got the cake mix from. He said from the cupboard. She was like… you used one of mine? You couldn’t go buy one of your own? He laughed and said if he went out to get one she would say why did you do that for, we have plenty of cake mixes here? She denied it but I’m sure she would have.
I went into my room for the rest of the night. I was just on my computer.
May 12
I had a bagel for breakfast and she had bought-made for me, mint tea. It’s my favorite.
We were suppose to go Skydiving but do to weather, it was a no go. Lisa was disappointed and apologized more than a few times. I think she was more disappointed than I was.
Instead, we walked with Devin to the playground. We had so much fun at the playground. Devin climbed right up the stairs as Lisa was guiding me. It was 4 floors high. There was a twisty slide, a long slide and a double slide. There was a pirate steering wheel next to one of the slides. I went down the double slide with Devin. We held hands as we went down. He enjoyed it so much (so did Lisa) we did it again. We also went on the swings. First Lisa was pushing Devin as I was helping myself. When Devin had enough, he got off and pushed me. It was so cute. I told Lisa to take a picture. She had taken a few of them and if you are on FB with me you can see the pictures.
Later that night, we played with homemade play dough. It was so fun.
Using the play dough, I wrote out DEVIN in block letters. Lisa loved that. She also loved me doing “I love mom” she loved that so much she took a picture of it along with her Mickey Mouse face whish she said was inspired by Dominique. Love of Disney.
For lunch she grilled dogs for me. For dinner she grilled steaks. She made her own teriyaki sauce and had them marinating for 4 + hours. She was worried I wouldn’t like them but they were amazing. She also made her own mashed potato. She also put corn on the grill and made a salad.
Dominique was telling me that her daughter’s favorite movie is Frozen. I had told Lisa that I need to see it because everyone else has. She said you want to see it? we got it. So that night, before she went to sleep, she set it up on my computer. Dominique was messaging with me as I was listening to it. She was telling me what all the characters look like and told me what was happening when I didn’t know. She is amazing for me. She said that it’s fun trying to think of ways to describe things for me. Most people… 99% of people it’s a nuisance and they usually don’t describe it well. She enjoys it and does an amazing job. I think only Justin, my twin and HER, are the only people who are better but I think she’ll get even better the more she describes things. Anyways, the movie was very good and my favorite line was "some people are worth melting for"
May 13
Lisa was going to Boston when I was going to Minnesota and Matt was going to Arizona to go golfing with a buddy of his so most of the day Lisa was packing and cleaning.
We still had hope that the weather would improve from the day before but it didn’t. so Skydiving was a no go. Lisa was bummed.
Lisa had made me Waffles for breakfast, the home made types. She puts a bit of vanilla in hers mix. Oo is that good. For lunch she grilled me some hotdog and for dinner, she made me and her ziti and Matt Spaghetti. I can’t believe she makes two dif pastas which the only dif is their shape. She makes her own meatballs and her own sauce. So good. Oh, she also baked up some biscuits.
I had posted on FB that I saw frozen and got a bunch of comments and likes. Wrote on that post that I have to see Tangled. Lisa saw my comment and came in to my room and said if you want to see Tangled, let me know, we have that too. I watched it during the day, before dinner but I didn’t care for it. Maybe because it was a story I already knew or maybe because it didn’t have those one-liners… I just didn’t feel it.

Dallas to Minnesota with a layover
I arrived at the airport and went to the informational desk. Kayci walked up to me and said hi Jonathan. Just as I told her, my smile went from nervous to the biggest smile she has ever seen as I gave her a nice hug. I had told her that I will be hungry when she picks me up so she asked me what I wanted. I had no idea. I asked if we could go to a Friday’s type restaurant. She said you mean a TGIF Fridays? So we went there. I knew what I was going to order as I had been to a Fridays in the last month and really enjoyed their fried string beans. So I got a create your own 3 for all. With the beans, pot stickers and buffalo wings. She had copied me, by ordering a 3 for all as well. We had nice conversations. What about, I don’t know. We went to the hotel. A friend of my dad’s has a Holiday Inn reward card and got me rooms for free. When we checked in, they asked me if I wanted a complimentary drink at the bar or bottled water and snacks or to put 500 points back on the card. Kayci told the woman to put the points back on the cards. We got our room key and went up to the room. We were the first door on the left when you come out of the elevator. It was very nice. After settling in, we both needed naps. I had been working on an hour of sleep and she had drove 4 hours after working an overnight shift. We ended up well, I ended up sleeping a few hours so when I got up, we decided to just go down stairs to the restaurant and watch the game there over dinner and some drinks.
jalapeno and garlic chicken wings
May 15
The game started at noon so we planned on leaving the hotel by 10:30. We did and found parking. We had to go through a metal detectors, I had to take out my radio, my hone, my wallet (because keys) and I had to fold up my cane to put through too. Once we got our stuff back we went through the ticket turnstiles and my first thought was, well, I made it to stadium #22 and damn is it cold here. Unfortunately, between Texas being in the upper 80’s –low 90’s and MN was in the upper 40’s low 50’s, my body never got use to the cold weather. We had walked around a bit. I didn’t want to go up to our seats. I knew it would be freezing up there in the opened stadium. Why did they not make another dome stadium? Lol It was a nice stadium and lots of room, especially leg room. The stadium was about half full, and I wasn’t the only Red Sox fan. The game was long and cold… and ok, until the 9th, the red sox were trailing the entire game. In the 9th, the red sox tied it up which, I wish they would have taken the lead so we wouldn’t have to play extras but they did. They played the 10th and in the bottom of the 10th, the Twins won.
I had a sausage and a pretzel at the game. I think she had a burger.
After the game, we went back to the hotel. She took a nap, and then we went down for dinner. I don’t remember what she had but I had a very good deep dish pizza with onions and jalapenos. We took a drive around to check out the area. It was something to do.
May 16
We went out for brunch. She wanted to go to IHOP and I was happy that she just made a decision without me. So I got apple pancakes with a side of sausage. She got the 2-2-2. Eggs pancakes and bacon.
We went to this park that is called a Sculpture garden. They have these bigger than life sculptures of random things which has no meaning to the city or anything or at least, there was no plaque to explain their meanings. There was a bell, a man riding a horse, A snow man, trees, a spoon with a cherry and other things. I didn’t get much sleep the night before so I was falling asleep. We went back to the hotel and rested till about 4:30
We went to the Mall of America. We walked around a bit. I wanted to get a shot glass to add to my collection and a post card to send to Dominique but one gift shop was Minnesota stuff and not Mall of America stuff and another gift shop was college stuff. So I didn’t end up getting anything and I felt sad about that.
At 6 O’clock we headed up to the comedy show. It wouldn’t begin till 7:30 but she wanted to get a good seat, it was general admissions. Since we were one of the first ones, they sat us right in front of the stage, at a table for 8. The room was a good size room. If I remember correctly, there was 4 rows of 6 tables then there were booths along the side walls and a section of chairs in the back.
This guy sat right next to me, he introduced himself as Eric. He’s a truck driver. Seems to be in his early 50’s as he spent 27 years in his first career. He said he wants to own a bed-breakfast and told us specifically where. He was a very friendly guy, introducing everyone to everyone “meet my new friend … what was your name again?” lol. Asking what people do for careers. When Kayci said she was a paramedic, he was saying funny things about it. I told Kayci I was glad he didn’t ask me what my career was. He would probably ask if I had a business card lol.
He saw I was wearing my Red Sox shirt and asked if I was a fan or something. He said he roots for the Red Sox too. He said he was in FL when they won last year. I told him I was in the bleachers at Fenway Park when they won. I shocked him with that. He asked me what I was doing in MN. I told him that we went to the game yesterday. I then told him how I was one of those people who are trying to get to every baseball stadium. I think I shocked him again when I told him I have gone to 22 stadiums now. He said he’s been to 3 of them.
This magician guy came over to Kayci and myself. He introduced himself and asked if he could do some magic tricks for us. He was stupidly funny, he was good. He offered his business card and said if you mailed him, he would email you back two free tickets to a show of his. He said to me that he wanted to see if he had some type of connection with me and asked me what my name was. I said Jonathan he said well, no connection there my name is David and my father’s name is Allen. I said …. Well, my Dad’s name is Allan too. Freaky lol.
More freaky… Kayci’s last name is Allen. lol
Some reason we still weren’t hungry and agreed we would go back to the hotel after to eat but we would get drinks. She had read me the drink menu. I got something that had vodka, peach schnapps, something else and juices. It was really good. The waitress asked if I wanted a single or double. I had no idea how big the single was, so figured if I wanted more, I could always get another. When she brought it over, I was glad I didn’t order a double. This glass, although had a lot of ice in it, was HUGE. When I finished, I asked if they do mix drinks. She said there was nothing about it on the menu but she would ask for me. They would so I had them make me my favorite drink. Vodka, southern comfort, amaretto with OJ and CJ. It wasn’t exactly what I remembered it to be, but it was still good. At the time I thought it was just the fact that they weren’t making it from a book, so the measurements were how they thought. But now that I think about it, I think it was Great fruit juice and not CJ.
My new friend Eric, told us that a good friend of his was just in Mexico with the MC of this club. So when the MC came out and talked about the lineup, Eric said “HOW WAS MEXICCO?!” MC said, how did you know I was in Mexico? Are you stalking me? never mind, I don’t want to know. You are a “fucking creep” now let’s just move on with the show. Lol
He said there was just one rule. If you can follow this one rule, there will be no problems. That one rule is, don’t be a dick. Don’t be a dick that’s all. Easy enough, right?
There is no smoking. If you smoke, you will be escorted out of here and fined 350 dollars. Ok? So please, no smoking. But, but there is a loophole. If you smoke pot it’s only a $70 fine.
You know how else you can help to not be a dick? Don’t be rude to the people around you or to the wait staff.
The comedians were good, not great but good.
Unfortunately, if I tried to write any of their skits out, it won’t sounds funny.
They talked about everything from talking about sex and “oh, hi mom.”
(one of the comedian’s mom was in the crowd) to experiences on LSD and MJ. Talked about-mocked the weather in MN and how cold it gets. How you have to race to your car in under 10 seconds or you freeze to death. You become an ice sculpture for your neighbors to use as motivation to run to the car.
There was two comedians. It was an hour and 45 min show. It was good. Something to do.
The best part of the entire show was Kayci laughing. It was so nice to hear her laugh.
We headed out and made our way to the garage. In the hallway that leads to the garage and I guess another part of the mall, we hear “hey Jonathan” it was Eric, the guy who was sitting at the table with us. He came over. Said that it was nice to have met us and shook my hand and told us to have a good night and to enjoy the rest of my time in MN.
We got back to the car and she was still laughing, telling me about her favorite parts. We went back to the hotel, and went to the restaurant. I had mention I was going to have a burger but since the chicken wings were so good, I had them again but with a different sauce.
Kayci had fried cheese and got me to try a small one. I didn’t like it and knew I wouldn’t but it wasn’t omg I need a strong drink to wash this down with. I had the Sriracha chicken wings. They were hot and I enjoyed every moment of it. She wanted one but I told her to put her fork on one first. She did and thanked me for the warning.
She didn’t let me pay even though I insisted on it since she paid for most of the time. It bothered me a bit but …ok.
We went up to our room. We got ready for bed and she fell right to sleep. I on the other hand, didn’t get to sleep till 3AM and she woke me up at 4AM.
May 17th
Who says you can’t go home. I’m shipping up to Boston
We woke at 4 and was checked out by 4:30 and at the airport by 5. We went to the ticket window so I could get my boarding pass and to get assist to the gate. I didn’t want to put Kayci through security but I did get a bit worried when assist took a while to come. I said my bye to Kayci, thanked her for a good time and got a nice hug. I was then off through security was the assist who, I’m guessing never went through security herself or thought that because she works for south west, she was better than the non-south west people…she tried to take her radio through, her keys and belt. OH well, just more time wasting. No big deal, I just have to be on a flight in less than 20 minutes.
I finally got on and this would be my longest flight ever. We had a stop in Milwaukee (waves) Then a layover in Baltimore which had a 2 hour layover to start with but do to weather, was another 30 minutes later. I didn’t get back to Boston till 2:30PM. So I was in airports from about 5AM to 3PM. Fun times fun times.
And now…now I’m back to Boston. Back to my boring life.
