185. NO Billy the Kid
6-24-2010
Jonathan

The year was 1834
I heard a loud banging on my door
I get up and put on my fur
A banging at the door again, it was a messenger

A young man, holding a lantern hands me a note
Using the light of the lantern, I read what was wrote
In pendmenship of an educated man
I was shocked, had to read again

Your survice is needed upon request
If you choose to accept, there is no time for rest
You will be paid in gold
I need you to kill in stone cold

Billy the Kid has struck again
This must come to an end
Shooting up the Moonlight saloon

I hand the young messenger two cents
He thanked me before he went
I slipped on my black leather cloak
Taking my gun off the rack, I broke

Skillfully heading down to the saloon
Hopefully I will find that goon
Billy the Kid will be no more
I will break him to his core

The night is quiet and so am I
Peering around corners with my keen eyes
My ears hearing only that of the wind and little creatures
Looking for a man of young features

I’ve been caught in a crossfire before
Knocking on heaven’s door
I always desire
Living on the edge, want to be admired

Never drew first gun
If I see The Kid in the sun
That bastard will be done

჻ೋ჻ Funny, I was just going to say the same thing as the above commenter, since it's where I live I've heard about it a lot and been to the museums etc. ჻ೋ჻

჻ೋ჻ I know, you tell me almost every time you leave a comment that you disagree with my beliefs, I got it lol Too many parents do put their kids in front of media of some sort just to get a break from them or keep them entertained. It's not healthy, it doesn't encourage healthy eating habits either, and it dulls kids to violence and sex so they think nothing of them. I had a Nintendo too and the first version of a GameBoy but like you said, I also went outside and played with the other kids, played sports in our yards, created fun games and stuff to do outside. We never played DnD, our family wasn't big into violence, but we'd play things like school and stories from kids movies. Kids these days don't seem to get that balance at all. One of the other books I checked out from the library is about how kids these days don't use their imaginations anymore and how creative play is dying out. It's sad because those things are vital to the healthy development of kids.

Well sounds like that woman got the strict "you must do this" side of beliefs that parents can inflict. I've seen it in Christians, Jews and Catholics, as well as other religions in Asia and India. Some parents treat it as a Religion and make it not fun for their kids. I involve my daughter in it and explain why we believe and do what we do. I will make it fun by my life being a reflection of the joy she can have in her life through her faith. It's not about following a strict set of must do and must not do's to please God, and making it joyless. It's about having a close relationship with God and creating the joy in it in your child. My mother was like that woman's parents, all she preached was Religion and she made life so miserable how she did things, like a drill Sergent of Religion. I would rather my daughter be involved in things at church that are so much fun, like Youth Group was for me, so that she wants to go and be a part of something there, not that I'm forcing her out of spite. I think how you parent a child has a ton to do with it, if you do it right they will see faith and God as a blessing, and as something wonderful to be a part of and share in. That's my goal! ჻ೋ჻
