Piano Bar in the Happiness Hotel
7-1-2011
Jonathan
Welcome to my smoky piano bar
Can I offer you a cigarette or a cigar?
The beers are stale and the wine is cheep
And the language is kind of foul, there’s no bleep
People come to hear me play
And I give them a place to get away
The windows are all boarded up and there is only one light
The bathroom hasn’t been cleaned since the 1960’s but that’s alright
I wash the glasses at the end of the night
If you think you are going to get someone’s disease, well, you might
Let me tell you about some people here
That guy sitting next to you there
He loves his tonic and gin
And makes Wilt Chamberlain look like a virgin
Then there is blackjack, Vegas gave him that name
He was a high roller, he had fame
He bet his house on one game
And he was never the same
You see that cute red head? Her name is Marry Jane
She talks like she’s insane
And she does a lot of cocaine
Now Joey, he’s a nice guy
He tells some great stories but who knows if he is just telling a lie
What we do know is that one night he got high
And thought he could fly
And well, he almost died
I only know a few songs
I hope you will stay and sing along
This piano is my only friend
And I will play it till the end
