178. What’s in a name
4-30-2010
I have a little story I’d like to share
Of my time in New Jersey and how I got there
I took a peterpan bus to new york city
I was feeling a bit guity
I was on my way to see my cousin get her Hebrew name
There was trafic in NYC, no one is to blame
I brought a brown bag lunch
A sandwich, grapes and pretsles that cruntched
Stacked my MP3 player with Bon Jovi
A few short naps before the port Authority
Switching to Lakeland with no reservation
Parsipanny will be my final destination
A few phone calls to check up on me
Stepping off my bus, Waiting patiently was my cousin Hayley
Meeting her aunt and a friend
Dressing up, temple we were off to attend
She had a lot of love with her on this night
Teers she could not fight
Her father’s sister lyla
Her rock of a friend was there, Paul’s mother Banita
A childhood friend Julie
So was her fiancée Anthony
I may not have been a neighbor
But a bus ride from Boston and I was at her door
The strongest love
Came from above
Her parents were smiling from the heaven’s
We all sang
The Rabbi guitar playing began
It was a beautiful service
Hayley was nirvice
We were ok when she was called up to the bimma
No dry eyes when she was given the name Cimcha Shoshana
The Onaig was sponsored by Banita
Pasteries, fruits and refreshments was provided
Then on to pictures that was guided
We sat around and stories were told
The night was growing old
We all departed with a shalom
A movie and a barbeque back at the home
My parents and I had brought a gift of mozatov for Hayley
I gave them to her while we were watching a movie
My parents gave her a mazuza for her car
I gave her a charm with a Jewish star
I then told a story
How this Jewish star came from Italy
They were given with love
As her parents were smiling from above
179. Empty glass of love
5-2-2010
Sitting in my big easy chair
A coffee table with an empty glass set there
My glass of love was filled a time or two
But I’m not sure any of them were really true
Becky was a beauty
She had a lot of energy and she said she loved me
In bed she rocked my world
We didn’t have much in common, she couldn’t have ben my perfect girl
Christina was a fun Lady
Watching sports, attending concerts and she enjoyed my poetry
However she wanted to see the world
She didn’t have a close tie with her family and no close friend, she wasn’t my true pearl
I spent time in a bar
But that never got me very far
I have been matched up with a friend of a friend
She hated sports, that date quickly came to an end
I even tried this on line dating
I’ve sent some emails and icebreakers but I’m still waiting
Feeling so lonely and alone
My life drones
I believe there is someone for everyone
But what if she never comes?
