Still, living on a prayer

Tommy and Gina work each day to pay the bills
Holding each other after work is their only thrill
Aint got no T.V. or radio to entertain
No money for a car or pass for a train

Tommy works on the Dock
Union was on strike, they settled way after the hand struck midnight on the clock
They got health insurance and a 401 K
In return, no raise forever and a day

Gina still works the day shift at the diner
Clearing the tables of inexpensive china
She counts up her tips, she did alright
She make’s Tommy’s favorite dinner on this night

Tommy walks in to a table set with a candle light
Gina greets her love with a kiss, and says “baby, we’re doing alright”
Tommy holds her close and says “baby, all we got to do is pray”
Gina rests her head on his chest and whispers “It’s the only way”

Tommy sits at a kitchen table he built with his two hands
It may not be fancy, but it’s perfect in their land
Gina serves a plate of spaghetti and meatballs
“Gina I love you, You are my baby doll”
