(this is a really long entry, but I would like if you read the birthday email from my twin at the end if you dont read anything else)
Hi all, I’m sitting here listening to “gin blossom” so if I bust out with a poem, you’ll know where the inspiration came from. “introduction aside, let’s move right along, you can all sing along at the sound of the gong” wow, that was so 1990.
I had a nice birthday. I went to the cosino with my parents for an over nighter. There was a slot ternament happening but the way it works was, you had to ern 5 points on your players card and then you could enter and it was only from noon to 5pm. By 5;30, I only had 3 points. So in order to get into that ternament, you must have played a real lot of money to accumulate the 5 player’s points. Needless to say, I didn’t get to play in the tournament.
I wanted to go to the buffet for dinner. They have this buffet that has everything! To start they had a salad bar that is out of this world. They have a carving station, with turkey and hmmm what ever else is found at a carving station lol. They have a Chinese food station, (yummy in my tummy) an Italian station, a station for all side dishes like baked potatos, mash potatos, corn on the cob, squash, strig beans, … and my fav, cramberry sauce. Hmm I don’t know what other stations they have for food except they do have a sea food station but I’m not a fan of that so I don’t know whats on that. And then… the dessert. They have a make your own Sunday station, a statio with pies and fresh fruits and then one that has various cookies and other types of pasteries. I hope it’s time for a meal after reading that lol. And it’s only $16 per a person..
Hmm then it was back to the slots where I played till 4AM. My father had gone up to the room about 1AM and my mom and I kept playing. I hit one machine for 57 dollars. I was shocked lol however, since I could do no right during the day, that had only brought to even. I played a few more machines on the way back to our room and I should have stopped there lol. But we played the following day
At one point I said to my father “what time is it” he goes “it’s quarter of one” I go “oh, it’s my birthday!”
Unfortunately, I didn’t get much sleep. My thoughts were racing with negative thoughts as I layed in bed. My thoughts included, “I’m 34 now and I have done nothing in the last 3 years.” I work 4 hrs a week and I’m not in school. At this point, I’m not sure if I want this career anymore. I mean, it’s not really working out. It seems that to counsel, you need a driver’s license and there is no way around that. I have a very nice resume, 3 degrees, 8 years of experience and a few training certifications but yet, it’s all for not. Compared to my twin brother who is married, with a baby boy on the way in August and within the last few weeks astablished his own architectural company and got his first assignment last week. He’ll be designing a MOSK. I think that’s pretty cool. That’s on top of his regular job. I was thinking how my sister is ingaged, she also has her own house and a nice career plus her football team that she is very close with. I was feeling really sorry for myself.
I’m going to fast forward time, My parents both made about 100 at the cosino, I lost 100 but had lots of fun. We then headed back and stopped at my twin’s area for enjoy some really good Chinese food at a place called “mai place” After dinner we went back to their house where Lindsay had bought a “girlscout cookie icecream cake” omg it was awesome.
Justin informed my mother at dinner, that all the siblings chipped in for my gift and will be coming in the mail within the next few weeks. When ever it comes, he says, I can open it asap.
I think… I know what it is and I will be in teers if I am right
AND THEN… I got my first experience with having a fb birthday.
I had something like 48 people post on my wall wishing me a happy birthday.
I sent an email to my twin, as he doesn’t have fb and my sister in law sent me an email along with the fb note. I wrote to her in part…it’s funny, all the people who sent me fb wishes, they never egknoledged my birthday before but the sign of real friends… I got a vvoice message from my college roommate at 7AM and he called me two other times on my birthday including having his little girls hmm 5 years old? Say happy birthday and they screamed it as only they can… SO CUTE! “HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNCLE JONNY!” . My best friend called me, my twin’s best friend called me from TX, my cousin Heidi called me and my sister called me. Not that I am knocking fb, I loved the attention, especially on my birthday but I was reminded with those phone calls, how much my friends and family are there for me.
Back to the FB notes.

Is today really your birthday? Or tomorrow...which makes you only to be one year older every 4 years..lol
ME: I know it's defanately Justin's birthday. You'll have to look at my I.D. for me to confirm my birthday
And lastly, an email from my twin brother
33, my 2nd number, was certainly a great year, and I know 42 will be even better. So I have a feeling that this, your 34th, will truely be a great one for you filled with baseball, slot machines, and chinese food and who knows, maybe a new job and a new girl. Life is full of posibilities. You just have to keep your head up so when the homerun ball comes out in your direction, you will be able to reach up, grab it, and keep it...metaphorically speaking of course.
