It's hot today and I'm working at home. To save on my energy bill, I am not turning on the air conditioner, but I am wearing only my boxer briefs while working with my fan on.
This is another advantage of working on "the road less traveled"- I could do my work while half naked. When I was still on "the road everyone's ever known" (as relatively free and flexible that job was), I couldn't do this.
The only job I can think of where you wear only your underwear at work is if you are an underwear model. Come to think of it, a job as an underwear model is probably borderline on "the road less traveled".
You may be saying that some jobs on "the road everyone's ever known" do allow you to work at home. That's true but those jobs usually allow only one day of work at home, except for special circumstances like having a baby.
I guess I am writing this to remind myself that "the road less traveled" is the best way and only way for me (despite having a temporarily lower income than when I was a full-time researcher and lab manager). But the road less traveled is not for everyone.
