7 days ago I began a 30 Day Paleo Challenge that a friend shared on FB. I guess FB isn't all bad then, eh? ;*) I had been wanting to go gluten and wheat free for a while, but it just hadn't fully happened. Something about seeing this challenge made me make the decision to do it now. So I'm doing a veggie, meat, and fruit diet mostly. I am not eating any grains or gluten. It's been really great so far! I would love to change it out to do less meat as I go along, so I'm working on that part. I want our diet to be mostly veggies, and then as I get to the weight and body shape I want, I'll add back some healthy grains. I don't plan to go all paleo forever, but I plan to stick to most of this eating style. On top of the eating changes, I've been working out daily doing the workouts on her site. Boy have some of them kicked my butt! But I've felt so good after and often have this strong urge to go run a marathon haha. Seriously though, it's been an awesome motivation to keep myself working out daily and eating better. I had been doing lots of pizza and such, but that isn't healthy all the time. I really want to be the healthiest I possible can.
I am on the hunt for awesome DVD workout programs. I didn't like Zumba at all so I'll be selling that set. I want to do Insanity at one point but I have to work up to that one. I just grabbed two Exhale Core Fitness DVD's from the library to try out as well. I wanted to take a Crossfit class offered up by me, but I haven't heard back from them if they do any childcare or if I could bring my daughter. The classes are 3 nights a week so I couldn't find childcare for her for them. There is a dojo offering a sweet deal on 2 months of kickboxing classes I would love to do too, but I need to call them as well to see about taking my kiddo. It's so hard to get out to take classes as a single mom with no family! I may splurge with my income tax return and get a membership at a local gym with childcare. I want to do classes and try a wide variety of exercise. It will be a good way to meet people too. :*)
Speaking of meeting people, the dating is still on but no one currently in the picture. I am looking at life as an open door full of possibilities I want to take, so I don't want to be with someone who isn't in a similar place. I really want someone who open to life and has a positivity about them! It's amazing how your desires change as you change. :*)
I have been working crazy hours lately, this is my second 12 day work week in the past month. I am thankful for the money because it's been great, but boy has it been tiring at times. This eating challenge and the workouts have been a huge help during it though! I am excited to have 3 days off this coming week *hopefully* unless I get asked to work last minute haha. I'm thankful for the work, but I definitely still want to look into other jobs as well. I want to keep moving forward and upward. And eventually we do want to leave this state. I would love to live in Virginia! I just find this state very suffocation, limiting, negative, with a mentality I don't want, and a lot of behaviors I don't want around us. I feel there are a lot healthier places to live. I would LOVE if my family in New Jersey asked us to move out there, but I don't think that will happen. So my goal is to replace my car, then save for the move. It's wonderful to have goals and see the future with hope and excitement!
