Hi Bloopers,
We managed to bring the server down yesterday pretty easily, however nothing was damaged - the service simply became unavailable until the attack stopped. After that,the server quickly resumed service.
It surprises me how easily a website can be brought to its knees, and all websites are susceptible. I am glad that our server generally does well coping with the stress.
In other news, although our traffic has doubled, our server load has halved thanks to some optimisation work I did a couple days ago. As a result though, the taskbar has been acting a little crazy, be assured that I'm working on sorting the kinks out.
I am also going to be adding a box to the 'new entry' page that allows you to skip posting your entry to the main page, and a feature that will order the entries in your diary by date rather than the order in which they were posted.

I still say add options to turn off the header/footer in certain entries!
