I wish we were good enough friends for me to say you should just get a divorce. I know you well enough to know you'll read this, and I just hope you go through with it. You know you have a HUGE reason to do it, and I wish you would. You know you should, you know you can, so please do it. Don't ruin your life with this. You're still young, you still have a chance. Get out before your reason to leave becomes impossible to save.

Hmm...do you really know what goes on in their lives for you to make an observation like this? Just because couples go through marital problems doesnt mean divorce is always the answer, or it seems like in this case an "easy out". I cant even begin to say (nor would I) the things my husband and I have gone through in our marriage (and 10 year relationship), but we were able to pull through and become stronger then the issues that were at hand.

Divorce is not the easy way out, trust me! It's a total mindfuck from start to finish.

Oh, I know, but some people assume it is. Divorces can be messy, I know so many people who think its the "quick fix" though, or that have had more then 1 already, like marriage doesnt mean anything

I don't know if it's easier to get divorced in the US. Over here, you can only get divorced for four reasons and you have to jump through so many hoops if you have money or kids. And it costs a fortune. I'd rather not bother, but it's not an option. Sadface!

Its sad. You can get married and divorce within 48 hours (or an anulment as we call it here).

2 out of 3 marriages in the US end up in divorce, its sad. All you need are the documents and 2 signatures and its over...

It's not just "two signatures and its over".

Divorce costs a lot of money in the states. Even more so if there are kids/assets/debt involved.

In some cases it is. My FIL's piece of crap ex wife just divorced him.

And I'm well aware its more money if their are kids, money etc..

There are a lot of factors involved to decide how costly and difficult it is. Some are easier than others.

If you aren't good enough friends to say this to them, maybe you don't know enough to judge whether or not they should get a divorce. I'm sure your intentions are good and your heart is in the right place, but it isn't often that outsiders know exactly what they're talking about.
