i have a dream. i want to live somewhere else. everyone thinks i'm seriously thinking about moving away. i can't breathe here. thing is, i don't think i can. i'm being told i'm being selfish for taking my son away from all his family. i guess in a way they are right. i see it as new adventures and experiences for him. they see it as me taking him away from them. can't win. damned if i do and damned if i don't.

at the end of the day, its about what is best for you and your son. The way I see it, your family are the ones being selfish here.

Your family is selfish for making you be restrained to a place you don't want to live. It's a two-way street. Your son is your son.

I think as long as you and your son are happy, and you are able to provide what you need for both him and you, I would go.

there is a podcast from radiolab called "stress"....

right now, if you are unhappy, then your son is unhappy. And that causes him stress and can cause him to stop growing/developing.

I would talk it over with your son (depending on his age) and see if you guys can take this plunge. NOTE! YOU CAN ALWAYS MOVE BACK!
