Swapping Pasts & Futures

Sometimes I wish I could trade my childhood with someone else. It doesn't matter who. If I could just swap out the childhood I had with someone who had more opportunities, more love, more peace, then I feel like I wouldn't struggle as much with myself. It always seems like I'm alone and like people ignore me. Oftentimes, they do forget I'm around and treat me so carelessly. I think if I had not been forced into being so quiet and alone, I wouldn't be the way I am today.

You can't change your past, but you can ALWAYS work on your present/future. It might not be easy at first, but you'll get used to it. If people aren't paying attention to you, MAKE them notice you! Stand apart from the crowd (in a good way, of course), and people will definitely see you!

For a moment I thought I had wrote this and sent it in and just forgot =P I feel like that quite often. But I try to focus on what I gained from my childhood. I'm more thoughtful and caring of other people because instead of being outgoing and boastful, I'm used to being quiet and reflective. I have higher quality friends than tons of shallow friendships. I have felt what it's like to be alone and have to work for what I want, so I can build a new life for myself. Yes, our childhoods sucked in some ways, but if I can pull myself out of it, so can you.

If you blame your past for your present and let it predict your future, then it is you that is making that choice and not your past. I spent 10 years blaming my past and the people in it for who I was... it was only when I took responsibility for my own life and started thinking about others (my newborn child for example) instead of myself that I found it was only me who'd been holding me back...

I would never want to change my childhood - all the travelling and life experience and the chance I got being adopted. . .
Though, there are certain things I would have liked to have changed. I think a lot could relate to this.
Also, it would be epic to go back in time to certain points of life with the knowledge I have now =D

But then again, impossible.
So, like first comment says, it is best to work on your present/future; also, good to learn from the past as it is responsible for who you are today, imho =)
