Well not much has been going on. Yesterday Mom, Melissa and Cameron left for NC. I really wish I could've gone. I miss the kids. A few months ago people at work said they couldn't deny me vacation, but I was scheduled 6 days this week, so I don't think I would've been able to go. Oh well.
So that damn book I've been after, I found it on Barnes & Nobles last week or so. I ordered 2, plus there was an offer on some other book, so I also ordered that. I got free shipping and a 15% discount. Well when it shipped I didn't think to look at the quantity of the one book. I got it in the mail yesterday and there was only 1 book of each. I went online and it showed that one of the books was cancelled.
I called customer service and got someone who didn't know what the hell was going on. I asked why it was cancelled and she said there wasn't enough at the time but it looked like now there were 2 in stock. She said I could place an order but would have to pay the shipping. I said that wasn't right because it wasn't me who cancelled the order, it was B&N, so I should still be able to get the free shipping without having to order $25 worth.
She argued with me saying that I did pay shipping because my order ended up being below $25. I had to tell her what my e-mail said, and what my credit card was charged in order for her to understand that they didn't charge me shipping because it was their decision to cancel it! So after 20 damn minutes I ordered another book and she said I wouldn't be charged the shipping. After I hung up I realized I had another damn coupon I could've used. I'm not sure if I want to mess with it for $2. It's just ridiculous what I have to go through to get this book!
So for the most part I was home alone. While my dinner was in the oven I made mini cheesecakes. I invited Kim and Sheila up. They showed up around 9 and we ate and talked until 12:30. It was nice. And the cheesecakes were pretty damn good!
The other night Kim mentioned getting her own place, and I told her about my NC plan. She said she would think about it, and even went home and looked at jobs. Her Mom was fine with it, but her Dad wasn't too happy. I told Kim I wasn't pressuring her and she can decide on her own. I just said that I don't want to be at the store for the rest of my life and there is more out there that I want. Part of the reason she's been at the store for so long is that she's diabetic and we have decent insurance. Well I'm sure she could find a job with good insurance, she would just have to look. So we'll have to see where that goes.
I didn't get as much sleep as I normally do last night, and I get to work 7 hours today. It's going to be pretty busy. Not only is Easter in 2 days, but it's the last BOGO fish fry, so I'm going to come home pretty smelly!
I haven't heard from Mark much this week and I miss him. I'm sure work is pretty crazy for him.
