Yesterday James and I got to have a mother son day. It has been quite a while since it has just been the two of us doing something together.
We went to Roanoke to see Where the Wild Things Are.
WONDERFUL....
It was imaginative, touching and increadibly well put together.
I was enthralled and it really showed how the characters were different parts of Max. Well to a grown up anyway, James just loved it period.
We even had popcorn!
Then we went to Lowes and got a fire place set for my wood stove. The cheap one I got two years ago played out so I had to get a new one and am glad to say I got one that does not have screw off handles which was DRIVING ME NUTS when ever you tried to do something they would unscrew and then the damned thing would wobble.
WOBBLE NO MORE!
Then we went to Ikenberry Orchards and picked a pumpkin and then got some pumpkin butter, apple butter and a BIG OLE JUG of Murray's Apple Cider.
The cider is locally done by friends of my family. I have even watched Robert make cider and tasted it right out of the tap. Of course that was AGES ago, but still...it was cool.
I need to take James there so he can see the way it is done.
We came home and I made potato soup, and brownies. Mike rented movies and James watched HBO family.
It was a good relaxing day.
By the By...there is a teaching job that opened locally. I am putting in for it... Please for the love of everything made, pray, send good thoughts, do a chant whatever to help send good energy my way. |
