MIL ranting about cartoon violence

*sigh* My mother-in-law just called. She's all up in arms because she thinks that some show Chris was watching at her house was too violent. She said it was called Boom. I hadn't heard of it so I went to the Cartoon Network website to do a little research. No show called Boom. I called her back & she asked Chris again. Turns out the show is Duck Dodgers. Duck Dodgers is a futuristic Looney Tunes cartoon starring Daffy Duck, Porky Pig and Marvin the Martian. Another one she doesn't like is the Justice League. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and all the others. Shawn & I don't have any problems with either of these cartoons. She got all puffed up & said that she guessed she was just over-reacting. "But they didn't have shows like this when Shawn was a kid!" Uh... Yes, they did!! I distinctly remember watching Super Friends, Spider Man & His Amazing Friends and Looney Tunes when I was in grade school. Shawn's favorite cartoon was Johnny Quest, for Pete's sake. I don't remember that show being all sweetness & light. I remember watching G. I. Joe & thinking that everyone were horrible shots because no one DIED! lol! "Well, do you think he's capable of comprehending this?" I don't see why not? He may be brain damaged but he's not stupid, for crying out loud. "Well, I guess I'll just have to watch it and see. Maybe I'm over-reacting."
