I am glad that Osama bin Laden is dead. I am proud of our troops for their dedication and humbled by their sacrifices these last ten years in protecting us, our country, and our freedom. For that reason I will not celebrate this momentus occasion. I do not want bin Laden to become a martyr to those who served him. The fight is still not over while his minions and those seeking to fill his shoes are still out there. He declared this a "fatwa" (spelling?) which means a holy war. Well, he asked for it and now will come before his true adversary-God. I pray that God will do unto him that which he did unto countless innocent victims. Don't get me wrong...I am glad that he is gone from the face of this earth and can on longer inflict his sadistic behavior on others. But I will not lower myself to their standards and celebrate as they did on 9/11. I am proud of the Navy and other armed forces along with our intelligence agencies in bringing this about. God Bless America and I am proud to be one. |
