[Challenge Books l My Service Diary]
| strike So, things worked out with the drinker things. It was somewhat of a misunderstanding but not so. We worked on it the next day with Jess (boss lady) and she made the other two workers do something they'd been avoiding up until then. We took our sweet time finishing our easy-as-shit work so we wouldn't have to help them...her idea. awesome. We're not sure what's going on with Buck, the other full-time worker. Lately he just seems extremely bitchy, complaining, and whatever else. He seems to refuse to do more than he has to...doesn't do what he has to correctly or does it his way, ignoring what the boss says and so on, so forth. We don't know why and he doesn't say or when asked he says nothing is wrong. That all this extra work and blah blah blah is just bullshit. Jess finally went to Mike about it and Jeff had to call him this evening and talk with him about it. That puts Jeff in a position though. He does like Buck...but the old one who used to joke around and he does agree a lot with some things he complains about. But if Buck goes...then I get his job. Believe me I'm not all that excited. Plus Jeff really didn't say everything that Buck says. That's just asking for trouble because then he'll know exactly who said it. His son who was hired on like me for the clean out is just plain fucking lazy. He gives new meaning to the word. He's 21 and looks fit but is worse than a baby about doing something that requires a little elbow grease. He acts like he's to good for the job but yet...he shows up everyday? I don't know. I love Buck to death though...I understand what he complains about...better than most. It's like anything that has to be done has to be done Jess' way. If you make a suggestion on possibly a better way, easier way, or whatever she can find fault with it. No matter how small. But if we find fault with her way, we're just not getting the big picture. Plus he complains about her being gone all the time and not working. Well, to giver her some credit, she's usually off doing farm business. Picking up this part here or things we need there. Plus...she's done our job before...she wasn't always manager and she got promoted...so doesn't that mean different responsibilities and expectations? But believe me if she was there then he would complain. Whenever she says she's gotta go do this or that he's always like good...she'll be out of our hair...then 2 hours later when we're sweating our asses off doing something he's like where's she at? not here sweating like us. So...wtf? Do you want her here...or there? Gotta make up your mind, bro. He keeps talking of leaving...doesn't. They keep talking of firing...doesn't. I think they're just waiting each other out and Jeff and I are caught in the crossfire. Anywho... We got our new puppy the other day. He's a cute little feller. He's another chocolate lab but this time we got him as a pup. We just got Jackson like 2-3 months ago and he's almost 3 years old. Jeff named him Traveler after Robert E. Lee's horse. Jess had renamed Jackson. He was originally Hershey. Cute but...not. lol. He's papered with the AKC but with the name Hershey. Does it matter if you change their name? She didn't like the name therefore the change but oddly enough she got another one named the same thing and she hasn't changed it yet. -smh- So, that makes 6 cats and 2 dogs. Oh, maybe I forgot to mention the other 2 cats we got? Can't remember. We got another kitten we call Goober. He kinda looks like smokey with the gray black tiger stripe but unlike smokey he has a white chest, belly, and all 4 paws. The back paws the white extends up his legs some. Originially we were gonna call him boots or socks...then I started calling him smokey jr. cause he acts the exact same as smokey did when he was a babe...then i just started calling him goober because...he's so funny and just acts like a goober. The other cat is just an orange tabby from my mom's...full grown...well looks it anyways. Not sure how old he is. But his name is smooches...don't know why mom called him that. She's worse than me at changes a cats name. There were 3 and they had sorta normal...well, human type names...then they always get changed lol. But they have just spent a ton...TON...of money putting in new windows and screens...and well...smooches decides he wants to climb them and has ripped several of them. They are less than a month old. Probably less since they weren't done at the same time. Just depends on which ones. So yeah...it was here or the SPCA. HERE! Unfortunately I have 2 already full grown males that tolerate each other and I'm gonna add a 3rd? None are neutered so can you imagine? It's a game of who can dominate who. So far...Smokey is still the alpha male. That's my baby! lol So 3 grown males, 1 young male, and 2 young females. We need to see a vet and soon. Jess is offering to take them all and have all fixed. She can write it off on her taxes because of the farm or something. Dunno how that works but I'm like yeah go for it. Jeff won't let it happen...at least not to smokey. Take his manhood? Are you crazy? We keep trying to tell him that he would gain weight more than likely plus stay home more often instead of prowling for females. Believe me there are plenty of them around here and then some. Heck that's where I got my two black female kittens. Left by the mother up here in one of the barns. Believe me they aren't missing that life either, spoiled little shits. So, tomorrow is payday. Yay!! This will be the best check I've gotten in my entire life...well, besides tax money but working money is what I mean. We had some seriously long days. I clocked in with 102 hours for the past two weeks. When we were talking to Jess about something Jeff said something about when we go and check the birds at night. I don't recall exactly what, I only remember saying "hey, now, I was helping you and down there right along side of you checking them birds." Jess was like did you write that time down? I said no because I didn't really think about it. I wasn't asked to do it and it's not my responsibility I was just going with Jeff to keep him company. It is literally only like 15 minutes every evening that we go down and walk in to check them. All we do is make sure it's not to hot and they aren't piling on top of each other so they don't suffocate. Not hard just a bit annoying. But she was like don't worry I'll take care of it. I always try to be good to my employees. I was like ok...so this evening she called to talk to Jeff about Mike and this conversation and other random stuff. She told him that she turned me in with 110 hours instead of 102. WOOT! That's an extra 8 hour day for me. In reality when you add up the time it was only like 3 hours over a two week period. I'm not complaining though. I didn't ask for it and she knew exactly how much it should have been seeing as she does the same thing later in the evening than when we do it. I really want to buy a new camera but I don't know. I want the money to last as well. This will be the last big check for me I'm sure. From here on out there isn't much to do that would require us to work long days unless something happened. This was more or less us being pressed for time. Anyway I'm just so excited about it. Well, I best get out of here cause it's 11:44 pm and i have to get up at 6 for the boys to go to school and me to work. -sighs- I wanted to take off today to clean but before I got a chance to say anything she was telling us how she told Bucks son to stay home. More or less because we were tired of dealing with him and his bad attitude and laziness but she told him so that he could spend time with his girlfriend who's in town from college. All were doing today was feeding and walking birds and we could do it with just us. Buck did bring his wife though. She volunteered so she wasn't paid. She just said she hadn't seen much of Buck lately so she wanted to come. I get that. And it did make things go faster. We were done in 1 1/2 hours. We were off by 9 am...didn't mess up my day at all. Just I was to lazy to really do anything. Some dishes and clothes and that's it. The place is still a disastor and I'm not exaggerating. But I am still rambling so I'm gone. Bye! |
