Fat Customers

I work in retail. We have motorized shopping carts in our store meant for handicapped customers that all of the associates have started calling 'fat carts' because the over weight people jump on them as soon as they get through the door while the handicapped people are left limping behind them. I understand that sometimes people cant help their weight, but it infuriates me when they don't even try. When I see overweight people riding around on those carts, I want to grab them by the back of the neck, throw them on the floor, and give the cart to a customer that REALLY needs it (and usually there are a few, but there are no carts left for them). I truly do despise our disgusting customers.

no people can help their weight, they're just being fat asses!!

Well, not everyone can. For example, *clears throat* people with PCOS. I have PCOS but it was diagnosed at 14 so I never really got it too bad. But some women who don't find out until they're in their 20s/30s get effing HUGE, and there really is very little they can do about it until some doctor puts them on either the pill or Metformin. Speech over!

yeah i know that and with thyrod(sp) issues but i've seen it 1st hand with people with NO MEDICAL problems go on and grab a doughnut and go on their merry way through the damn store.

Oh yeah, I like to call those the true fatties because they just don't care. Fair enough if you don't care, just don't use up things for disabled people in the process!

exactly.. one time i felt so bad for an elderly lady who couldn't get a motorized shopping cart and had to put her OXYGEN tank in the cart!! i was so pissed..

LOL, you work at Walmart, dont you Thats where I see that the most.

Agreed. We don't seem to have that problem too much over here but I imagine it will get worse soon!

Shouldn't these overweight people be walking for exercise to lose weight? Argh! My father is disabled and he uses motorized shopping carts, but he is actually disabled, not overweight. There are many stores that do not have motorized shopping carts. It's a pain in the ass!

I know what you mean! We have one fatty that shops in our store who is so heavy she runs down the battery and we have to bring a new one to her part way through her shopping. I hate her. And it doesn't help that she's just plain stupid.

This made me lol. Even the energizer bunny can't tote her heavy ass around that long...It just keeps going & going & going & going until....bamm big fat ass lady comes to put a stop to it.

[Makayla|0 likes] [|reply]

Lol I love the way you said that.

[Ice Vampire|0 likes] [|reply]

agreed it makes NO sense... however, the fat people they cannot walk far or much its harder on thier knees from what i understand

[*~Amber~*Star|0 likes] [|reply]

I understand what you're saying and I'm sure many people use them because they are too large to move around on their own. At the same time, I have a friend who is quite large who is currently recovering from achilles tendon surgery PLUS has a crushed foot (opposite foot from the surgery). She refuses to use a cart (even though she SHOULD because she's supposed to be non-weight bearing) because she doesn't want to be judged in the way that you have just posted. I judge too and I'm a large person (but I don't use the carts). I can get around just fine on my own. All I'm saying is that there might be some extenuating circumstance to the large people using the carts other than the fact that they are large.

Agree with Mommy Bunny... I know a lot of heavier people that have trouble getting around, and using the carts makes it easier for them to get their grocery shopping done.
It sucks that you judge people by automatically assuming that every fat person who grabs the cart is just being lazy.

This is America, where you can be as fat and lazy as you want. Get with the program!

Ughhh amen. I had foot surgery recently - had a metal rod through my foot for a month, and the foot is permanently paralyzed. Even RIGHT after surgery I was left hobbling around on crutches trying to push a cart because of all the people who just didn't want to walk!

I was tempted to use one was I was close to the end of my pregnancy because my feet hurt so bad and were swelling, but I didn't. I would have felt guilt. I agree with this entry though.
