What was your first car? Did you buy it yourself or did your parents?

My first car was a 90 Honda Accord LX (the LX stands for "luxury", apparently.) I was 17 years old, and I think one of the only kids in school without a car (woe is me, right? lol.) I wanted a car so badly, and I finally got one. I was so so so so excited! It was gold, with tan exterior. I have a lot of memories in that car. First road trip, first wreck, first ticket. That little guy stuck with me for about five years, which was a lot for a car that old (I was a sophomore in high school when I got it and just recently got a newer car about two years ago, so maybe it was longer than that. Eventually, it wore out like most cars do. The steering was jacked up, the transmission was in a dire state, not to mention the radiator. It was going to cost way too much for me to fix. So, I gave it to a friend who gave me about 200 bucks for it, then he spray painted it black, knocked all the windows out of it, and took it to the derby where it eventually met its impending doom. I still feel a little bad that I didn't go to see its final hoo-rah.

My parents bought me my first car. However, this second one I bought all on my own. I feel proud of Shelby (which is what I call her.) Having the gold car made me appreciate having the new-er one because it works.
