What do you think about the recent oil spill in the gulf coast?

It's a horrendous disaster that is being dealt with as best as possible, but there isn't much we can do to fix the problem quickly. It's going to destroy the Gulf Coast eco system, that's for sure.
I actually live near the gulf, in mobile, al. It is defininately not fun this oil spill not only will destroy the eco system, but businesses that rely on catching fish and shrimp from the gulf. Businesses that get their Money from tourists and such may be hurt as well if the oil reaches gulf shores, dauphin island, and the pensacola beaches. I am pretty sure they are going to close down the beaches pretty soon. So far they haven't had to. I recently read on a local news station of ours that universities down here are testing the water and the toxins in the oil. they are reporting that the spill may not be as bad as people think it is. regardless it's going to do some heavy damage in the coming weeks.
