A good home must be made, not bought.

Chris and I have been doing so well. It's amazing how well we've been doing. If we never fought anymore, I wouldn't be so impressed. But...we still have our little spats here and there, but we handle them amazingly and squash them quickly. I think things really are going to work.

The evening that we had yesterday really drove things home for me. It wasn't that much different than our day to day lives, but I really thought about it and was grateful for it.

Yesterday, we both had to work super early. He had to be out of the house at 5:00 and I had to leave for work at 6:30. I got off of work four or five hours before he did. I really felt like being domestic and giving him a clean house to come home to. I baked a spice cake and cleaned the whole house. I even cleaned Curly Jefferson's (our rat's) cage.

When he got home from work, he kept thanking me for cleaning and telling me how much he loves coming home to me. He was all dirty from work, so he went to take a shower. When he got out, we made love and it was wonderful. It was the first time in a few days b/c he had been really sick.

We started debating on what we wanted to have for dinner. I threw out the idea of Chicken mole with white rice. But then he thought up sesame chicken...which I promptly approved of. Haha. So...we threw on some clothes and went to the grocery store to get the chicken and a few ingredients that we needed. I'm so grateful for those little things...like strolling through the store together. After we checked out, we put our grocery bags in the car and walked to Blockbuster. He picked up Night at the Museum II, because he knew I wanted to see it. Then we went home.

I did the dishes from the previous night while he started the prep work for dinner. That's our nightly ritual, because I hate doing dishes right after dinner. It's nice because we're in the kitchen together. Much better than doing dishes alone. When I finished with the dishes, I helped with dinner. Chris made the sesame chicken and I mad the chow mein....with him telling me how to make it, of course. But...I did it myself! haha. Here's a pic of our work:

The color looks kinda weird b/c it's a cellphone pic. But...it was delicious.

After dinner, we put the leftovers away together and straightened up the kitchen a little bit. Then, we went to bed with a movie.

So simple. So domestic So wonderful. I love our life.

Those nights are so simple but they are the best. That food looks yummy!

RYC: YW. Things are going okay, I guess. It's the holidays and I'm far from home. And other things bothering me. Thanks for asking though. I tend to be mia when things suck but I don't feel like sharing on Bloop. L0L.

(: I lovvvve the simple things. It's totally dinner together and shopping and just being able to be in the same room (even if we are on our own laptops) that I miss the most.
