Caitlin

24

6 1/2
how long have you been riding?
Since I was five.
did you want to horseride or did your parents make you?
My parents signed me up for a horse riding camp but it's not like I didn't want to go.
do you own your own horse?
Yesh.
where do you keep them?
At Prima Farms, fairly close to me.

Gelding

Smart, sassy little brat
You and Your Horse:
do you compete:
No, he was never much of a show horse. He gets very anxious on trailers and in new places, so it was just a big frantic hassle to try to control him at a show. I showed my other horse, but I don't own her anymore.
if so what in or if not would you like to:
Duke and I competed in a few Hack classes. Secret and I competed in Hunter classes.
have you done dressage
No, I'm not that interested in it.
showjumping
Yes.
cross country
No. I would love to, but I've never had a horse suited for it. Duke is too neurotic and Secret was too...well actually she was neurotic too but in a different way; she had essentially been abused when it came to jumping, so she had issues.
hunting
Not actually hunting to kill things, if that's what you mean. I've competed in Hunter classes most frequently when I've shown.
hinter trials
Yes
showing in hand
Yes, with some of the ponies at the barn; never with my own horses.
ridden showing
...huh?
been to a championship
I went to support a friend who was in one, but I've never made it to one myself. Showing was not my primary reason for riding.
done endurance
No.
RANDOM:
how much do you love your horse?
He's my child!
Whats the highest you've jumped?
Hmm...10th hole, which is 3'6" I think?
ever ridden bareback
Yeah, Duke is a skinny guy though so he's not very comfortable. I've ridden some round little ponies that were fun bareback though.
would you ever sell your horse?
I sold Secret, but that's because she was a high-spirited horse that needed riding 6 times a week to maintain her training, and I didn't have that kind of time. It wasn't fair to her. Duke was my first horse and I will never sell him.
1-10 how good is your horse at dressage and why
2 because he won't bow his head into dressage position and probably wouldn't be interested in learning any dressage moves.
showjumping n why
He's a hunter, not a jumper.
cross country n why
He'd be great if he'd just jump the damn fences. He has the Arab stamina and the Morgan jumper in him, but he's a stubborn little guy...not to mention he's retired now and isn't ridden anyway.
endurance and why
That's something he would have been good at with some practice. Once again, the Arabian blood.
hunting and why
He made a good Hunter at the farm, but it turned into a disaster when I tried to take him to shows.
hunter trials why
See above.
has this survey helped with your love of horses and boredom?
No, it was kind of lame. Maybe I'll go find another one.
