Dear Apple,
I am currently frustrated and disappointed with you. Your 85W Power Adapter for my beloved MacBook Pro is failing me day-by-day, and I don't know what to do. You see, almost every review on your website complains about the shoddy craftsmanship of the connector piece, so I simply must wonder why you haven't fixed your design flaw. You are, after all, one of the companies left in this world that prides itself on innovation.
The electrical tape I had bandaging my adapter worked for a while, but there comes a point when even that starts to melt. Perhaps I use my computer for uses you did not originally intend it to be used for, but when you pay over $2000 for a computer, you expect it, and its components, to work for a long time. Come on, you understand what it's like to be a poor college student!
So now I am faced with a dilemma: do I just buy another one? Do I try to convince your company to fix the one I currently own? Or do I just keep fixing the one I've already got? For all the recycling adds you've been plastering across the media, this sure is an Earth-unfriendly move on your part. You usually do things right the first time so customers don't run into problems like this. Yet, it is not an uncommon problem.
Perhaps I am over reacting and I simply need to shovel out the $80 plus shipping and handling and wait the 6 weeks for it to come. But I can't afford that on any level of the word 'afford.' You see, I use my computer every single day. Every single day. And while I could probably live without it for a couple months, why would I when I have it right here? I would simply be forced to borrow a PC, a thought that makes me shudder.
What I am trying to say is you should take care of your customers. I'm not implying handing out freebies all the time, but honestly, guys. Fix the damn design flaw, fix my charger, and let's all move on and be happy and stoked about Apple again.
Your dedicated customer,
Rachel |
