One Month Later...... And some pictures.

Time really has flown by....

I'm having trouble with something.
I found out I was pregnant... I feel like I blinked and I was holding her.
It really didn't feel like 9 months had gone by.

And now?
Elora is a month old.
That, My Friends, is mind-fucking-boggling. No lie... it's a huge trip.

So... took Mommy's Little Monkey/Peanut/Buttercup/Princess Squish to the Dr's today for her one month Wellbaby checkup.

She weighs in at 9lbs 14.7oz and scooted back up to 21inches... her head was kinda cone shaped when she was born at first cause she needed a little help getting out lol
So she lost an inch but has since gained it back... and her head is 15" around now... my baby has big brains lol
The Dr is very happy with her growth. And was impressed by the fact that she's starting to activly track objects/light now. Though he had her attention right away cause he used a pen light. Lights are her favorite thing to look at. He cheated lol.
Her thrush is loads better but still bothering her a little so he put her on some more meds and gave us a cream, since it's connected to the same system (my words) it's traveled south adn is not bothering her poor little bottom.
Other than that my girl is the picture of a healthy baby.
Now I just have to get her insurance sorted. She was covered on mine for the first 31 days of life by law... but that's up on the on either the 12th or the 13th.
So it's to CHIP we go.... if the jerk of a case worker ever calls me back.

If that doesn't happen by the time she's two months old I'll have to buy it myself somewhere. Because she needs her first round of shots at two months.
Not really looking forward to that.... but my mom said I handled her getting poked for the jaundice test really well.
My mom was freaked about it... I just cuddled Elora extra when it was over until she settled down. And snuggled her the rest of the day lol

So... family news... My aunt is throwing a party for us at the end of the month. Just a family thing with my friends Krista and Mollie (possibly Krista's husband Justin coming if he chooses) and some extended family as well.
It's kind of because of the ruckus my Gram caused when she first found out I was pregnant. It turns out that she's the reason no one on my dad's side of the family said anything when they heard about me being pregnant.
Because at the time she thought that giving the baby up for adoption was the best thing for me to do... she told them that's what I was going to do.
Then when they found out I was going to keep Elora, my Aunt Dars (yes that's meant to be plural. My uncle married a woman with the same first name as his sister) both came to me and said they were glad I had chosen to raise my baby, and they were really happy for me.
Aunt C didn't say a word to me until my brother's grad dinner... Typical.

Anyway... the party is at the end of the month.
So we've got that to look forward to. And I'm determined to look forward to it.
It will be a good time.
I will not let my Gram's well intentioned (AKA pushy, offensive, unwanted, and misguided) advice (*cough*badgering*cough*) bother me.
I won't.

If I feel myself starting to snap, I'll just lean on Krista or Mollie. And cuddle Elora. That's also a good way to combat a sucky day. Snuggle a baby.
I think I need to let Valerie borrow my daughter for a few hours.
