So I talked to Berta, the friend who I got the hockey tickets for. And it turns out that she didn't tell Kristy to say anything.
Kristy just decided to stick her nose in cause she felt like crap that she wasn't spending as much money on Berta's birthday as I was. It's normaly the three of us going out to dinner, and the non birthday pair splitting the bill for the birthday girl. We hang out a lot ( or we did before I had Elora.... that's become somewhat limited since I don't feel right either leaving her with my parents for the evening or dragging her around). And by lots I mean we got the nick name "The Three Bitch-Kateers" jokingly from a coworker.
So Kristy took something Berta said offhand and ran with it and told me all that stuff cause she "didn't want Berta to feel bad about you spending so much on her birthday"
Someone tell me... where does that road paved with good intentions go to again?
But I had a nice long chat with Berta. And she did feel like I was spending too much. But I told her I saved purposely to get her something nice. I have money saved to get them both something nice for their birthdays. Kristy doesn't know it yet but she's getting a gift certificate to the spa my sister-in-law recommended.
As long as our work schedules work out Berta and I are going to the hockey game. And we're gonna eat nachos. And hope we get to see the Two Headed Monster.
