Life has been a bit insane lately. I work more days a week but thanks to it being the slowest time of the year I end up working LESS hours. Just weird short shifts that make it super hard to have someone home with Elora now that my dad has a job.
That being said... Yay! My dad has a job! lol
My friend Krista had her baby the week before Easter (also a week early). She'd been walking around 7cm dilated for three days but since there was nothing else going on (ie no high blood pressure or health risks for the baby) they wouldn't induce until 39 weeks. And of course since they were going to induce that Monday at 6:30am, she went into labor at 3am lol.
I don't know a whole of details as far as labor goes but it was apparently pretty rough on little man. He inhaled lots of meconium and was in the NICU on a ventilator for almost a week and a half. They moved him to Children's Hospital in case he needed surgery for anything, as the hospital he was born in doesn't currently have a neonatal surgeon.
He's making really good progress so far. He's off the oxygen compleatly and into what they refer to as a step down room. Means he's in a regular bassinet with just his feeding tube and a few medications. They just have to get him feeding normally (ie straight off the boob or a bottle) and he should be able to go home soon. Hopefully Noah William will be home with Mommy, Daddy and Charlie Puppy soon. If you've got extra fingers to cross, please do so with him in mind. Or add him to your prayer list if you're so inclined.
I have to be up early tomorrow for work so I'll end it here. But I promise I'll update about Elora in the next few days. |
