It's official. My baby is not a baby anymore. She's a toddler.
I can't keep up with all the words she can say on her own... and she parrots back just about everything she hears too. Elora can tell you how old she is and almost hold up one finger and a thumb. Sometimes the thumb stays down... but meh. I think she's brilliant anyway. I'm her Mama. It's kinda my job. We had her two year checkup last week.
He was impressed by how much calmer she was than her last visit. But her last one was an ear checkup and she had a fever so, duh... no she's not gonna be super chill. Goofy Dr... fabulous Dr actually... but on the silly side. Which I like.
We had fun telling him about our trip to the zoo on her birthday. He asked her what we saw at the zoo, expecting to hear her tell him about lions and monkeys and the like.
Elora looks at him, does a monkey arms thing, hoots a bit and says "Ooorantang!!!"
Dr was duly impressed.
I've managed to curb my language so she doesn't pick up any new swears from me. She does say "Dammit!" when she's running around pretending things though... usually accompanied by throwing what ever happens to be in her hand onto the ground.
I guess that's not the worst thing she could say.
My friend Manda always laughs when I get in the car to go out sans Elora. The first seven or eight minutes of the car ride I curse like a sailor. It's like I have to get a few out and then I feel better lol
Right now I think I'll try and clean a little so it's easier when Elora goes for a nap... I try and have the living room clean and some dishes done by the time Crazy gets home from work.
Hopefully I can get that done and sneak a nap in too. For some reason I couldn't sleep last-night and now I'm kinda running on caffeine.
But first... here's some pictures!!
At her birthday
Cupcake!
Got a pony If you squeeze the ears it makes noise and sings a song. The mouth also moves while it sings. She loves it... It's horrendously annoying. |
