i may have mentioned it before, but carly simon's "you're so vain" is one of the most brilliant songs/mysteries in the history of existance. can we all agree to this? because it totally is. i have supreme love for that song. and the fact that it may in part be aimed at mick jagger, while he so ignorantly (and/or ironically) sings the backing vocals.
as far as intrigue, and oh-i-want-to-know-but-please-don't-ever-really-tell-me curiosity, "you're so vain" ranks second only to don maclean's "american pie", for obvious reasons.
