omigosh. i am so so so excited right now. this always happens when i skype with lindsay. tonight's chat was super productive. we sorted out the shower location [my mom's] and date [november, tentatively the 19th]. i'll have a guest list to lindsay within a couple of weeks. we're okay with an e-vite, except to my aunts, whose emails i don't know, and who are sort of old school anyway. i'm sure they'd prefer a lovely hand-written invite in the mail.
she also had a really interesting idea for a sort of satelite/online shower because my old co-workers want to do something for me. she's thinking of hosting an evening at her place, where i'll skype with everyone, and they'll have a presentation by a pampered chef consultant and any gifts they'd like to give us from that could be shipped directly to me. an alternative to that would be that they do the skype party, but send us gifts from our registry at the bay.
we sorted out what little was left as far as attire. she's shopping for shoes online right now.
my "bachelorette party" will be a spa day at the resort before we get married. i'll get to spend time with my favourite girls, get my nails did for the wedding, and avoid that terrible drunken scavenger hunt at a string of shitty bars ordeal.
here's the most exciting news, the stuff that's got me most worked up at the moment... i'm going to visit lindsay! and we might be on the same flight toronto to winnipeg! i'm trying not to get my hopes too high, because about 5 pieces of a puzzle need to come together precisely for this to work. but, in a nutshell, we're long overdue to visit josh's family [who live where lindsay does]. i've been asking him for months when we were going to go and he kept putting it off. today, his vacation request had to be in at work and he put in for sept 28 - oct 4. there's no real worry about that being approved. then, his dad has offered to pay for him with air miles. so we have to contact air miles tomorrow, and hopefully they have our preferred flights available. i still have to request my time off. on one hand, i've never had trouble getting time off cleared, and i have 5 days left to take by oct 13th. on the other hand, our clinic is relocating, and that time may be too close to the move [but i really don't think it is]. once my time's approved, i have to book the flights that josh has, thru the airline directly [because i'm paying my own fares]. then, the icing on the cake is that lindsay is flying down to toronto for a work-related course sept 23-28. as soon as i know which flights josh and i are taking, i have to let her know and she'll book her return flight on the same plane as us. ah-mazing!
phew. okay. i'm starting to calm down now. i should get to bed before i get myself worked up again. gosh, i hope this all falls into place. |
