if i were a boy even just

winnipeg was generally great. rise against killed their show, tho it was a tad disconcerting to see josh in that light. he was REALLY into it. weird. we didn't have hotel sex for possibly the first time ever, but i can't complain as i had an amazing sleep, and we more than made up for the sex the next night at home. i got all of the shopping done that i needed (i.e. christmas shopping is done! [except gifts cards]) and gorged myself on sushi.
the one big down-side to the trip was when we came within centimetres of being in a front-end collision that would have done major damage to my car. i'm still trying not to think about it, while thanking whatever powers that be that i hit my brakes and turned my wheels just so.
i wrapped all of my gifts yesterday, and took a couple more holiday pictures. i had some of my gifts shipped directly to walkerton, so i wouldn't have to bother packing them, or have josh stumble upon them (as there aren't a ton of hiding places in my house) so i was afraid that my tree here in kenora would look pretty bare this year. thankfully, my fears were unfounded and the tree looks pretty good. lindsay came over last night for a little girls' night action. we imbibed a little [vino for her, danger-drink for me] and watched the finale of so you think you can dance canada. we went to walmart at 11:30ish, just for something to do. i'm so glad to have someone in this town who understands how... weird it is. i mean, kenora is just "normal" for so many people. having grown up/lived where linds and i did gives us a totally different perspective on a bunch of things.
i have 10 shifts left before my 10 day christmas break. 7 of them are solo shifts, and i still can't decide if that's a blessing or a curse. i guess that will all depend on how busy it is in emerg. hopefully, things will go pretty well. and if they don't, i guess i'll just keep repeating "only __ more shifts till holidays" over and over, thru gritted teeth.
